Molke bras

CherryChapsticks · 24/04/2021 18:42

Anyone have one? I'm considering it but I want to know if they're more like crop tops and if they're the bra version of 'snag tights' which don't appeal to me at all

I'm looking for a soft, comfortable bra with support and shape and wondered if the molke might fit the bill

Thanks

Dd wears snag tights and she’s a size 6 🤷‍♀️

CherryChapsticks · 24/04/2021 23:40

Nothing is wrong with body positivity and maybe you need to be familiar with BoPo insta accounts. Just a joke, just a joke. Some people understand where I'm coming from though. Snag and molke seem the same kinda thing to me the more I look at them

In the minority here but I love molke bras, they give me brilliant shape and cleavage. I don't have an issue with them showing under strappy tops because I don't wear strappy tops.

I think they work best for bigger boobs but only if you also have a smallish waist.

I don't tolerate underwires at all, can't stand them.

I am a 36G and have considered buying one of these bras but after reading the comments on here regarding cleavage I'll give it a miss. I hate having anything that displays my breasts in that way. So it's a no from me.

I get what you mean about BoPo - there is a 'look' that many of the IGers have. Very colourful, vintage style outfits. Blunt fringes and Victory rolls. Plenty of tattoos as well. The Snag and Molke models mostly have that look.

PomegranateQueen · 25/04/2021 07:41

I get what the OP means about Bopo, it's usually brands that make you look like a kids TV presenter that promote it. I would love to see more everyday brands with a variety of models.

Bagelsandbrie · 25/04/2021 08:07

I love Molke bras and as someone with chronic pain I find them very comfortable- but - I size up from the size they say I should wear as I don’t like them super tight and find them impossible to get on and off otherwise. They say I should wear a small super and I wear a large cosmic. But they have a new flexi fit bra that you can do up like a normal bra so perhaps this helps somewhat. I love the shape and uplift they give, far better than any other similar bra out there.

Branleuse · 25/04/2021 09:09

I dont mind a flash of molke under a vest top, but not a strappy cami of course.
Theres loads of instagram pics of them so you can see they do support.

I also have to size up in them.
I find they simultaneously minimise, while giving good cleavage, which i quite like, and i know the bo-po look you mean, cos i quite like that and molke do have a bit of a cult following in those circles. Also youre right that they dont go with every outfit.
I like my black one with a deep V top or dress that i dont want normal bra to show as makes my boobs look brilliant, and i like a colourful molke under either a thick strapped vest top or a slouchy off shoulder tshirt. It becomes part of the outfit

Yes, this has happened to Popsy Clothing - I used to be able to get nice dresses for work but now it’s all dungarees and novelty prints. To be fair they do get everyday models to show their stuff. I can overlook that issue with Snag because the sensible coloured tights are so good - not fussed about the others.
mugofwater · 25/04/2021 09:32

Really comfortable and I wear nothing but Molke now. I used to go to Bravissimo for years but started finding the underwires so painful if I attempted to lean or lounge in bed reading once peri menopausal.

I wear a 34FF/G and find the Molke sizing works. Good shape. Much more subtle under clothing than I expected.

I step into the bra and pull it up rather than wrestle it over my head. Works brilliantly for me. End of day, shoulder straps off, step back out of it.

ChocOrange1 · 25/04/2021 10:12

I like them, I find they're comfy and supportive and never dig in. I don't feel the need to rip them off the minute I get in from work, like I have with every other bra I have owned.
I don't have an issue with the jazzy patterns because nobody else can see them under my clothes. I have a navy blue and white for when I am wearing a white or slightly see-through top, or one where the straps might peek out.

Otherwise I don't have the "look" which molke seem to align with. I am an average size and I wear clothes from fat face generally 😅 I just like them for the comfort really. Plus the resale value.

"I'm about a 36E or F and a size 12-14"

Really? It would be unusual to measure 36 inches under the bust if you're a size 12-14, you would have a proportionally large ribcage/chest.

Have you measured yourself recently? Try this method www.booborbust.com/

CherryChapsticks · 25/04/2021 10:32

@AnotherEmma I measured using their calculator and it did say to contact their admins if I'm sure I've measured correctly!

Now ... I could be a little out of proportion. I've had a tummy tuck so my bottom half is slim. I look relatively normal though Grin and yep - I'm definitely a size 12 - 14 is some cases.

OP posts:
CherryChapsticks · 25/04/2021 10:33

'Size 14 in some cases' that should read! But usually a 12. All my dresses are 12s and my jeans for example

Some of us can't tolerate the BOB method, I know that's sacrilege to say but it's the case. I know I "should" be wearing a 32 back but I can't physically stand it - it is too tight for me regardless of what cup size I wear. It's a sensory thing.

nordica · 25/04/2021 12:34

I like them. Really couldn't care less what anyone thinks of what I wear though, and never wear strappy tops that would show my bra anyway.

They are not like crop tops at all but you do need to get the right size. I wear a small super Molke and I'm 12/14. The support comes from the band which needs to sit right under your boobs like an underwire would do. They give me great support and shape under clothes.

I like that they are really easy to wash with normal laundry (no wires to worry about), too.

I’m exactly the same. Officially I’m a 30GG/H but fuck that for a game of soldiers. So uncomfortable and I just can’t be doing with not being comfy. I wear a large cosmic Molke.
CherryChapsticks · 25/04/2021 18:18

Thanks for all the comments. I've also joined the Facebook group and now I can actually see the bras on 'real' women, I don't like them at all. They're just not something I'd ever wear. I'm clearly in a bit of a minority as they've got a huge fan base but I'm scratching them off the list as I just wouldn't want to wear one

OP posts:
AnotherEmma · 25/04/2021 18:35

Molke never appealed to me either.
You could try Sugar Candy, they are non-wired and very comfortable, good for bigger cup sizes, and look more "normal".
www.bravissimo.com/search/Sugar%20candy%20non%20wired

I would advise you to double check your size though so you know what to try as a starting point (even if you end up with a different size). There is a Boob or Bust FB group you could join and they offer good advice.

CherryChapsticks · 25/04/2021 19:07

@AnotherEmma yes those bras look ideal - just what I'm after. I've no idea what size I'd be though as they go from XS upwards with no cup size explanation that I can see

OP posts:
AnotherEmma · 25/04/2021 19:37

Well first you need to know what your size is (as I said, 36 band seems unlikely, you'd need to measure) and then see the recommendations on this page: www.poinsettiastyle.co.uk/products/cake-maternity-sugar-candy-everyday-seamless-sleep-bra-black-28800506
If I had to guess I'd say you might be a 32FF-G which would be a Small.
Bravissimo sell them so if your local one is open you could try them on for size.

CherryChapsticks · 25/04/2021 19:54

@AnotherEmma yes I think I'll pop into my nearest bravissimo as this is the style I'm looking for

I'm definitely measuring a 36GG with BOB but I wear a 36E usually, sometimes a 36DD. And they all fit just fine. And I'm definitely a size 12 and sometimes a 14. So I don't think the BOB method works too well for me!

OP posts:
BeautifulBirds · 25/04/2021 19:57

If you are wanting to try one the Facebook group Molke B/S/T sells second hand ones.

QuestionableMouse · 25/04/2021 20:18

Have a look at the new flexi fit bras they've brought out. I've just bought one and they're really comfortable but also supportive (and I have enormous boobs)
