Is it just us who whenever Damian Gammaticas comes on the BBC that sings 'is just passing by' in the style of Court of King Caractacus?

Any other unusual songs in your house?

Ours is "Petie Filou, ...is it you.. woo hoo woo"

ignatiusjreilly · 21/04/2021 20:30

Every time we have jelly for dessert, I bring it to the table doing my Beyonce walk and singing "I don't think you're ready for this jelly".

AdaFuckingShelby · 21/04/2021 20:36

When the kids say they had a dream I always sing 'Last night I had the strangest dream. I sailed away to China, in a little row boat to find ya, and you said you had to get the laundry clean.' It drives them nuts.

AdaFuckingShelby · 21/04/2021 20:37

I might have to have jelly tomorrow now Grin

CorpusCallosum · 21/04/2021 20:39

Do-do-do-do do-do do-do its shower time!

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 21/04/2021 20:48

Feeding the moggies in the morning, to the tune of Blockbuster The Sweet, we sing " does anyone know the way? There's GOT to be a way to cat breakfast! "

ignatiusjreilly · 21/04/2021 20:53

@AdaFuckingShelby Sometimes I start by asking "DH, can you handle this? DS, can you handle this?" etc.

They don't find it funny, I should add.

MooChops89 · 21/04/2021 20:58

We also do "The Heating's On" and "I've Got The Key" 😂

dementedma · 21/04/2021 20:58

Many misquoted song lyrics in this house are entirely down to the great Terry Wogan.

RumHoney · 21/04/2021 21:01

Just remembered another one.

Mash! Aha... Saviour of the universe...

HavfrueDenizKisi · 21/04/2021 21:03

If the kids get a little sassy and answer back etc I always sing:

'don't push me coz I'm close to edge, I'm trying not to lose my head, a ha ha ha, it makes me wonder sometimes how I keep from going under' (the message grandmaster flash).

Really fucks them off. 😁

AgentProvocateur · 21/04/2021 21:05

What time is it?

Showtime!

lifeissweet · 21/04/2021 21:08

If anyone ever says '3' in answer to a question they always get 'is the magic number' from me.

This behaviour is funniest when met by stoney silence and maybe an eye roll from your nearest and dearest.

Why do it otherwise?!

lifeissweet · 21/04/2021 21:13

And when Steve McManaman was playing football I would always sing the muppets.

McManaman doo doo do doo doo

TigerDroveAgain · 21/04/2021 21:14

OMG I’m stealing that starting tomorrow

I loved The Sweet

lifeissweet · 21/04/2021 21:16

@RumHoney

Just remembered another one.

Mash! Aha... Saviour of the universe...

I like this, but Mash is always sung like 'Shaft!' In this house.

Mash!

flowerpotmike · 21/04/2021 21:46

Whenever we have malt loaf my husband sings soreen soreen soreen
soreeeeee-e-een in the style of Joleen.
We have loads more but I can't remember any right now, its been a long day.

Sidge · 21/04/2021 21:52

If someone comes in at work and says “it’s cold outside” I sing in reply “there’s no kind of atmosphere!”

SquishySquirmy · 21/04/2021 21:55

I like a cup of Lapsang Suchong tea in the evening.
This always results in someone singing "LAPSANG SUCHONG DANANANANANAAA" to the tune of Plastic Bertrand "ca plane pour moi".

SquishySquirmy · 21/04/2021 21:57

Also there's a rap we do instead of listening to the covid press conference when it's on the radio.

ValerieMorghulis · 21/04/2021 22:05

@PuppyMonkey

Whenever someone - on telly or in RL, says: “Where do we go from here?”

We always sing: “Is it down to the lake I fear.” Grin

Yep!

Aye aye aye aye aye yah. Aye aye aye aye aye aye aye yah...

And so it goes one (in our house)

takingmytimeonmyride · 21/04/2021 23:25

I've got the key, I've got the secret too! Grin

Also whenever anyone says maybe tomorrow, I sing "I'll want to settle down."

My kids used to love going shopping with me when I belt out the "wooooohhhhhhh bodyform, bodyform for you" whenever I needed to buy them. Grin

Also it's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere too.

My boyfriend does the down to lake I fear. I didn't know so had to look it up. I think we might talk mostly in song lyrics and film/tv quotes. But he knows far more than me so I'm always having to google.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 21/04/2021 23:34

I couldn't think of any, but I'm sure we do this. Anyway remembered one. We have a cat who will plonk herself down inconveniently and refuse to move.

On my approach I will usually sing "kitty move your butt, butt, butt, I think I'll sing it again"

GreenTeaPingPong · 21/04/2021 23:41

When TV weatherman Nick Miller's name is announced, I always follow it with
"No! I will not let you you. Let me go! Will not let you go..." etc.

TeenMinusTests · 22/04/2021 06:20

I don't know most of the songs you're all mentioning, but we also do:
