No

MySocalledLoaf · 20/04/2021 12:04

No, never. Since we are all going to die, if you spend your life worrying, you’re wasting it.

allthingsred · 20/04/2021 12:06

Yes

Heysiriyouknob · 20/04/2021 12:15

@ssd

I'm pleased most don't worry.

Whats your secret?

Because why worry about something that hasn't happened yet. Because life is short, I'm going to die anyway so I may as well enjoy myself. I could crash my car and die on the school run this afternoon. Because I have bloody excellent private healthcare which actually saved my life once before (something I was "too young" for according to the nhs when I was 20, they thought I was mad and wanted that investigated instead, had private healthcare though work and was operated on within the week, I wouldn't have seen my mid 20s I'd that hadn't been the case. First thing I did was take out my own policy and over 20 years it's been excellent, even during covid when one of my children needed it - I'm not well off by any means but I go without other things to pay it).
AuntieMarys · 20/04/2021 12:16

No. I'm 61 if that helps

Insert1x20p · 20/04/2021 12:23

No. There's no secret really but factors include

  • generally in excellent health- partly luck/genes, partly lifestyle/exercise. I don't get ill often.
  • when I've ever had genuine health issues it's come out of the blue so I didn't have time to worry in advance (had to have major eye surgery once, smashed my ankle up trail running)
  • no major health issues in the family
  • my general life approach is to ignore minor stuff and quite often it goes away by itself (laziness??)

But that's me- it might be rational for you to worry about your health if you have chronic conditions or genetic risk factors.

Worldgonecrazy · 20/04/2021 12:31

Yes.

I have annual MOT and do functional fitness or cardio every day for at least 30 minutes , eat a varied and healthy diet, don’t drink excessively, and drive a Volvo Grin I also monitor my fitness levels regularly.

We only get one body and I want it to function well into old age. We can’t guarantee what the future holds, but that is no reason to neglect our minds and bodies.

We are told to live ourselves and surely one of the foundations of living ourselves is wanting to e healthy?

Or do you mean ‘are you a hypochondriac who assessed every ache and pain for cancer symptoms’? In which case the answer is no.

BigGreen · 20/04/2021 12:32

Only now that it has developed a problem and no-one knows why :(

BogRollBOGOF · 20/04/2021 12:37

No.

I care about my health. I try to live a balance between looking after it and enjoying it. My dad died from preventable illness in his early 50s. Some things you can prevent. Some things you can't. I'm not immortal, I just want to live as well as I can for as long as I can live enjoyably.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 20/04/2021 12:58

Yes. I have had raging health anxiety in the past but it’s sort of under control between meds and therapy. Still, it doesn’t take much for my brain to go, ‘so what horrible illness do YOU think you could possibly have? And what are you going to do about that?’

BitOfFun · 20/04/2021 13:02

No. I'm currently at the end-stage of cancer treatment, and clock-watching, so the worst has already happened and I'm still "me". Things couldn't go more wrong, so why worry?

FeistySheep · 20/04/2021 13:05

No.

I don't worry about anything. I consider things and if possible take action to make them better (like eating healthily) but I don't spend time worrying about them.
If I'm going to die ten years from now, I could spend the intervening ten years worrying about dying, or I could spend it enjoying living... hmm tricky...

Randominternetbitch · 20/04/2021 13:09

Only if I have a specific reason to and even then it’s only until I’ve figured out what I need to do to fix it. I thankfully haven’t been in a position of having a life threatening condition but my general attitude is not worry about things I can’t control.
