Can/Do you just get up in the morning and go out?

I can't!
I have to shower/wet my hair as it goes flat overnight; I have to put some make up on (in order not to traumatise small children Grin); I do have to eat something.

So it's usually a minimum of 30 minutes (or longer if I let my hair dry) whereas DH can be up and out in 5 minutes and still look decent.

Emergencies excepted, how long would it take you?

So envious of all these people who don't have to wash their hair every day. I have to shower and wash my hair every morning, or it feels like a greasy frizz ball, so need a minimum of 45 minutes to get ready once I've blow-dried and applied (v.minimal) makeup. I actually went out today without washing my hair, but only because I was going straight to the hairdresser! I don't eat breakfast but I do need several cups of strong coffee in the mornings.

@Yogatomorrow

I used to be like that, then got a job that involved a 5.30 start. I can do 15 minutes from bed to out the door.
Yep, except mine's a 4am start with a 20 min cycle commute.

up, switch perc on, shower, dress, coffee in flask, 15 mins out the door

Make up, hair etc done at the other end, keep the stuff in my locker (and make up is mascara and contact lenses now we're masked up at all times)

An hour minimum. Low blood pressure, need to eat a decent breakfast and IBS (at least two toilet visits).

Scarby9 · 17/04/2021 18:46

I can go from asleep to put of the house in 5 or 6 minutes. Up, toilet, wash and teeth clean. Clothes on, brush hair, out the door.
On work days I allow 15 mins to add in a shower, face moisturizer and a better hair brushing.
Everything that can posdibly be is done the night before. Work bag packed, including flask of coffee and bottle of water, and left by the door. Lunch in the fridge. Clothes on chair in bedroom.
If I have longer, I just don't get out of bed until the last second.

Frazzlefrazle · 17/04/2021 18:49

On a school and work day I get up at 6.20 and leave at 8.40 Grin however that's obviously includes getting kids ready and homework. If I only had to sort myself out I would say 30 mins.

MadMadMadamMim · 17/04/2021 18:49

I can be up and out in about fifteen minutes.

Get up, wash face with wet flannel, clean teeth.

Spray with deodorant, get dressed. Hang over the bath and wash (very short) hair with the shower attachment. Scrunch and leave to dry naturally. Occasionally put some lipstick, blusher and mascara on.

Pick up car keys, bag and go.

I have to be out of the house by 7.00am. First thing I do at work is put the coffee pot on whilst checking emails.

I have a bath or a shower every night before bed.

doctorhamster · 17/04/2021 18:52

No. I get up about an hour and a quarter before I have to leave the house. That gives me time to shower/dress/make up and have breakfast before I leave.

I have a colleague who sets her alarm for 15 minutes before she has to leave for work. That could never be me. My eyes wouldn't even be open properly.

Clevererthanyou · 17/04/2021 18:58

1.5 hrs if I’m fast and stick to the basics 🙈🙈 Tbf I’m disabled and require 8 pills each morning and can’t leave the house without a bath because I have hyperhydrosis. Plus my cats trip me up A LOT.

Oblomov21 · 17/04/2021 19:01

What are your actually asking?
5 minutes if Say I once woke up late and got Ds2 to school. Teeth, clothes, go.
30 minutes for shower, make up, hair dry, work clothes, teeth, breakfast, make a lunch for work, go.

Toddlerteaplease · 17/04/2021 19:13

45 minutes, for shower, breakfast. Cat duties.

CMOTDibbler · 17/04/2021 19:19

Pre covid, I was frequently getting up at stupid o'clock to go somewhere for work, and would be up, dressed, and out the door in 5 minutes in a formal outfit. I could be up, out, drive to airport, park and be airside in under an hour - at which point I would put some makeup on and get a coffee

Bythevennel · 17/04/2021 19:28

Good god no. I need at least 2 hours but am usually up about 3 hours before I need to leave the house. I only actually need about 20 mins to get ready, the rest is spent drinking coffee, maybe doing some exercise, but mainly drinking coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet. I love that time in the morning, it's my favourite time of day.

doadeer · 17/04/2021 19:35

I'm very fast, I have a toddler and it takes me 6 mins to get ready and get his clothes.

I have a bath at night, I do deodorant, cleanse my face add vit C, then suncream and sometimes some tint then lip Balm. Hair in a messy bun. Brush teeth. Done.

Most days I usually wear mom jeans and trainers with a vest, jumper and jacket. It's easy peasy.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 18/04/2021 23:16

Am I weird in that even if I shower the night before, I still feel as if I need to at least have a quick splash at the basin in the morning? I don’t think I’m freakishly dirty or sweaty but I just feel a bit ick until I’ve washed my pits and parts.

Twoforthree · 18/04/2021 23:30

It takes me 25 minutes to shower, wash and dry hair and make a packed lunch. I might eat a brioche while making said padded lunch
I could be out in 5/10 minutes if I didn't bother showering or something food.
Anything for those extra minutes in bed.

DappledThings · 19/04/2021 11:33

I have to shower/wet my hair as it goes flat overnight
Ha, I'm jealous of this. I'm always trying to get my hair flatter. Sometimes it is flatter the day after after it's been washed but it isn't guaranteed. Always been a mystery to me why there are so many hair products to give volume and none which advertise as doing what I want and de-volumising!

2beautifulbabs · 19/04/2021 11:40

Depends if it's just dropping my two off to
School in mornings I don't bother with hair or make up.

If it's for appointments or going somewhere then I like to get up make sure I've got time to shower do my hair make up and have a coffee and something to eat.
