What terms of endearment do you call your DC?

Not explicitly a taat, but the thread about names for your OH got me thinking about what people call their DC (young or old!)?

Mine are preschool age and it's mostly: darling, sweet pea, sweetness, my love, honeybun, honey button, munchkin-moo, or their nicknames (too outing to share).

DS: first name - bum
DD: first name - pops
Refer to both of them as sweet or chicken(s)

Buttface is a go to one at the mo.
Stinky erse is another. Whatever gets the biggest eye roll really.

I also rank them from one to three. When one does something nice, like gives me their last Rolo, I loudly announce they they're now No.1 child or my current favourite. (Sometimes with a "Hear ye, hear ye" announcement)

We take nothing seriously in this house and it's a good laugh.

The rest of the time it's something soppy like munchkin, babykins, sweetie pie, and whatever else goes with big smooshie kisses.

I actually think they may prefer buttface........

When they're annoying it's Ya Bum, Oi Fly-blow and telling them they're out of the will.

Said in a joking way, ...babe, sweetie & chicky. Both DCs have regular short nn too.

MrsPnut · 16/04/2021 08:34

DD1 is Happy, used in a definitely ironic way
DD2 is fartface.

I also tell them that I don’t have a favourite child, I dislike them both equally. 😔

They remind me that they will be choosing my care home and it’ll probably be a skip in a car park.

We are a very sarcastic, piss taking family and any schmaltz results in vomit noises.

Stormwhale · 16/04/2021 08:35

Sweetpea, poppet, booboo, sweetcheeks, monkey, cheeky chops, bub, baby, bubba, pumpkin, moomoo... clearly far too many!

reluctantbrit · 16/04/2021 08:37

Unexpectedbaby · 16/04/2021 08:42

Monkey or monkey butt mostly lol.

Every now and then Gregory because she finds it hilarious for some reason. Sure that will wear off when I'm calling her Gregory picking her up from school 😂

Sounds just like our house. I often tell them I don't have a favourite as I dislike them all equally.

Way more fun.

pheasantsinlove · 16/04/2021 08:52
