@purplebagladylovesgin
That's exactly what my dad did. And it soon added up especially when he used the credit card to help buy a car

Blackpool pleasure beach tickets
My mobile contract is with Tesco mobile and have used them to pay for the bill sometimes, you get a good discount.

Quite a few years back now, DH & I traded in a load of vouchers & had a stay in a 5 star hotel in London Docklands. It was a bit far out for where we wanted to visit but absolutely fab!

I use mine to pay my mobile phone bill, they double the value, you can dip in & out, so some months its my normal bill, and some months I add my vouchers to lower my bill.

(Tesco phone contract obvs)

Tesco Clubcard has really gone downhill over the years.

Not too long ago they would give 2 points per £1, and now it's only 1 point.

You could also get 4x the value with reward partners, now it's only 3x.

They also used to do double up in store, so you could get double the value on things like clothes, toys and health and beauty.

There also used to be a lot more rewards partners but now it's fairly limited. There are a small number of restaurants, but you can't use rewards to buy drinks. And not many retailers compared to the past.

I know it's a loyalty scheme and you are 'getting something for nothing' but the Tesco Clubcard used to be the best but now it's just ok. The best use is probably hotels.com or one of the days out, depending on what you are into.

@Morgan12

Could someone explain this further please?

I get vouchers through the post for like £5 off a £40 shop. How are you all getting so much?

I'm signed up to the Christmas club too and only get like £8 a year and i spend a fortune on tesco. What am I going wrong?

The vouchers you get in the post are money off/marketing vouchers because you have a Clubcard. They are nothing to do with your accumulated points.

£8 a year in vouchers translates to £800 spend at Tesco. As you get 1 point per point and a point is worth 1p. The vouchers are sent every 3 months, but you can get them quicker if you have the app.

We saved loads and family members gave some to us when we first bought our house which we used to buy a kitchen from mfi when this was an option.

In the last few years we've booked ourselves into a nice hotel with a pool and bought a 2 day pass into a theme park.

That’s going back! ....but I do remember you could get stuff from MFI....we got a double bed from MFI with vouchers once...I had Completely forgotten until I read your post !

@WinoLino

Does anyone know if you can use discounts alongside the Clubcard? Like could I use the vouchers for Alton Towers and also the discounts you get from cereal packs etc?
I’m guessing not, you have to book the vouchers you want through the Tesco website so I don’t think they would allow you to add in other discounts.

@Morgan12 do you have a petrol station at your Tesco?

Me and DH get all of our shopping and petrol from Tesco, I even buy big things like my mobile phone, computer games etc from Tesco.

So we get about £10/£15 a month or 6 weeks or something. So we save them for 6 months, and have about £100 which you can then multiply by three so we then say 'we have £300 what shall we do, where shall we go?"

£8 a year doesn't sound right if you do all your weekly shops there. Do you use your clubcard every time you shop?
