Heavy snow in the South East

Has anyone else got heavy snow this morning? I feel so sorry for all the businesses opening for outdoor eating today. It seems to be settling too.

AHobbyaweek · 12/04/2021 07:24

Can people post pix of what it's like where they are? I want to know if my daughter's likely to have any in east London (without bothering her too early in the day, she's six months into first baby and it's all a bit random, the communication).

TheWaif · 12/04/2021 07:25

@TheWaif

None in my part of Essex, but it feels like there is. Freezing.
Actually I was wrong, there is a bit.
EasterEggBelly · 12/04/2021 07:26

Yes here too. I mean WTAF?! As if the Easter holidays aren’t shit enough, we now have to suffer this too. So glad I didn’t spend a ridiculous amount of money to go and visit one of the very few outdoor attractions open in my area today.

suspiria777 · 12/04/2021 07:29

none in N London

LeaveMyDamnJam · 12/04/2021 07:29

Oxfordshire here too. It’s heavy snow atm and settled.

SeaTurtles92 · 12/04/2021 07:29

SE and have none.

SeaTurtles92 · 12/04/2021 07:31

But then we never have any and if we do it never lays! It is raining though Grin.

cyclingmad · 12/04/2021 07:33

South London here, its snowing

Lonelycrab · 12/04/2021 07:34

North Hampshire we have a bit, but it’s melting as fast as it’s coming down. It’ll be gone by 1pm.

LionLily · 12/04/2021 07:36

Few miles inland from Folkestone, Kent, just an annoying car-scraper frost, though have to say the sky's got that funny pre-snow glow.

provencegal · 12/04/2021 07:37

Snowing here SW!

peak2021 · 12/04/2021 07:38

Heavy snow. Anyone had more than two inches worth?

I hope that no-one from Canada is on this thread, they will be having a laugh if they are.

Though any snow even if it melts will be not much help for anyone going to a pub at lunchtime.

eurochick · 12/04/2021 07:39

Big fat flakes here - London / Surrey borders. And it's settling at the moment.

Standrewsschool · 12/04/2021 07:41

Kent - none

dontcallmelen · 12/04/2021 07:41

Big fat flakes here as well, south east London/Bromley

HelloDaisy · 12/04/2021 07:42

Berkshire here and we have snow. We had some yesterday too and it was just like the polystyrene filling from bean bags!

HuntingoftheSnark · 12/04/2021 07:42

Tunbridge Wells - just started.

nannybeach · 12/04/2021 07:42

Also SE UK near the sea, DD 35 miles away sent video snowing there, (near Gatwick)frost here

It's not a competition! It's a bit of surprise though! We've got 2 inches here in south Oxfordshire and it's coming down very heavy
OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/04/2021 07:43

Morning all.
That was a startling development, even for seasoned forecasters. It should all shrink southward and be pretty much clear everywhere south by late morning. Some scattered snow showers possible along the coast later, turning to rain.

eurochick · 12/04/2021 07:44

It's obviously not heavy snow by Canadian standards in terms of the overall amount but this is pretty unusual for England in mid April...
