If you drink, do you drink every day? Every weekend? Do you think you drink too much?

Hi,

So I understand most people who drink have drunk more over lockdown, but just wondered how people actually felt about their drinking now.

How much do you drink and do you think it's too much? Or do you know it's too much, but don't really care? I have some friends in that category right now.

Personally, I know dp and I drink a little too much. Usually just Friday - Sunday (not constantly! 🤪) but I'd say we get through a couple of bottles each, so about half a bottle over the RWA.

It's our only vice though really, but I do sometimes worry and think we should cut it right back.

Anyway, just wondered Smile

I drink far more than I did before the Pandemic but still very little. In the past week I've had three glasses of wine and one glass of beer, and that's more than the previous few weeks. Never been a massive drinker, can't handle and get morose the following day.

@frecklefailurefeature

Can I hijack? I hardly drink but I'm looking for drinks for when DP has a beer. I don't drink enough to open a bottle of wine - and I don't like beer. Any ideas? I like sweet stuff - and not really tonic water. Suggestions please!
How about the fruity gins you can get but with lemonade instead of tonic? I used to think I hated gin until I tried it this way but it's actually the bitter taste of the tonic I can't stand.

I drink Friday and Saturday nights and with Sunday dinner.
Probably 1.5 to 2 bottles a week. Or sometimes less wine and might be some gin

Every few months or so I'll really fancy a bottle of nice cider. And I'll have a glass of something at New Year, and maybe occasionally go out for a drink with a friend. I'd say on average I drink alcohol maybe three or four times a year, usually just a couple of units but once in a while, at special celebrations, it'll be a bit more, maybe two or three pints of equivalent. It's not really my thing; I don't mind drinking but it's not something I'm desperate for either IYSWIM. It makes it difficult when I have to answer the GP's questions on my drinking habits, though — I'm not teetotal, but the answers you can choose from assume fairly regular i.e. at least weekly drinking.

Yes, yes and yes.

Oh and whether I think it's too much, obviously I'd be daft to claim so, but sometimes when I drink it does count as a binge numerically. But so fucking what? I'm not going to spend my whole life being maungily abstinent when it's not causing me any problems.

Not much. I can only drink wine with meals, not on its own so usually open a bottle and have it over 4 days. I probably have a bottle every 3-4 weeks.
