Cook Islands, South Pacific.
Which I think is pretty much as far away as it’s possible to go before you start coming back again.

Working out where is furthest. Distance wise about 11, 500 miles but that wasn’t the hardest to reach, longest journey or most remote.

CherryPieface · 08/04/2021 23:45

Thailand or Malaysia - loved both so much.

AdoraBell · 08/04/2021 23:45

Southern Chile, almost Antarctica but not quite, and Argentina. Those were trips when we lived in Chile.

catfeets · 08/04/2021 23:48

My geography is awful so I don't know which is furthest but the longest non-stop flights have been Costa Rica and Venezuela I think.

Not quite the answer to your question OP, but it's made me think of "the world's most vertical person", Dr Kathy Sullivan, the only astronaut who has also been to the deepest part of the ocean. A remarkable woman!

ChronicallyCurious · 08/04/2021 23:59

I think New York

Furthest small city from London is Dunedin NZ

Furthest large city (over100,000) is Auckland NZ

Furthest Capital city is Wellington NZ

I've been to all of them many times via many places & there in one direction and back the other sometimes.

It's France I'm really missing though. I usually go for a long trip in summer. I didn't go last year - I barely left the house! I won't be going this year either. 😢

Technically NZ, but the middle of Africa, DCR I guess, felt very much further away.

New Zealand is geographically the furthest from the UK, specifically the South Island I think.
