Are they meant to come in some water in the box? They look awful.

Pop them in water now. Odds are they'll look lovely in a few hours.

Wavingwhiledrowning · 04/04/2021 09:19

They always look a bit knackered when they arrive, but follow the instructions (cut the stems, add the food to water), and they perk up over the course of the day. They also tend to last ages and fill out over several days.

LemonRoses · 04/04/2021 09:20

The ones I have look a bit sorry initially, but rapidly perk up and are very pretty a day or so later. I think they’re really clever.

Inneedofanewwardrobe · 04/04/2021 09:21

I've had them before but these look very wilted. Do you think they can be saved?

Brokenrecord3006 · 04/04/2021 09:22

Mine turned up looking very sorry for themselves but the water and flower food perked them up. They're still going and looking lovely 10 days later.

Palavah · 04/04/2021 09:23

Take a photo now, then follow the instructions. That's the only way you'll know if they'll perk up

Northernsoullover · 04/04/2021 09:23

Mine were knackered and didn't perk up. I didn't want to tell my sister who had sent them so they got away with it Sad

SmidgenofaPigeon · 04/04/2021 09:24

There’s a thread on how disappointed some posters were with their B&W Mother’s Day flowers.

Maybe the quality really has dropped off! And they do often come looking a bit tired but they used to perk right up and look lovely. I haven’t been thrilled with the last few I’ve sent so I don’t tend to use them anymore.

user1471538283 · 04/04/2021 09:25

I had some that were just dreadful. My friend complained and I got more

Timeandtune · 04/04/2021 09:25

If you have any problems at all B&W have excellent customer service. They will refund or replace without quibble. My Mothers Day flowers lasted 3 weeks .

AlexaNeverListens · 04/04/2021 09:26

I sent my DM some B&W flowers on Mother's Day. I chose a fairly expensive bouquet which looked loved in the brochure. When DM sent a photo to say thank you I was really embarrassed.
I used them last year too when they weren't quite as the photo looked but not 'too' bad.
Won't be using again sadly.

I got some from a friend recently and they looked really sad when they first turned up but they've mostly recovered now - some of the shrubby bits aren't quite right though, and the stocks were a little bit past it. I was quite disappointed at first but now the flowers mostly look lovely. In fact you've just reminded me that I need to give them a bit more food.

I'm not sure I'd use them myself.

SillyBub · 04/04/2021 09:33

My mum was trying so hard to be polite when thanking me for her Bloom & Wild Mother's Day flowers. I could tell she thought they were shit and dead.

I told her to follow the instructions and be patient. The next day she messaged me a photo to say they were beautiful and the day after that to tell me they were the loveliest flowers she'd ever had! She threw the last of them out yesterday and they were delivered on the Thursday before Mother's Day.

Don't be disappointed yet.

CimCardashian · 04/04/2021 09:34

They look sad but in 24 hours they really perk up and last for so long.

FoolsAssassin · 04/04/2021 09:38

Those should perk up but think you might need to take some of the foliage off them, see what they do.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 04/04/2021 09:41

You can just snip that bruised leaf off - it won't affect the alstroemeria which is a really long lasting flower- you should get at least 2 weeks out of that: the flower itself looks fine.

Speaking as a florist, it's incredibly difficult to not bruise the occasional leaf when packing and things get knocked about in transit.

B&W pick and pack their flowers a stage earlier than commercial florists do which is why they perk up and bloom so rapidly when you put them in water with some food.

If I can't make people flowers myself I use various delivery companies and B&W has been consistently better than Interflora, in my experience.

Orcadianrythyms · 04/04/2021 09:43

I cancelled my subscription last week. They do perk up but they are so poorly put together as they substitute things. Particularly the greenery which makes for a rubbish look. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but the last three months have been all the same - despite me picking different bouquets. The flowers are also really cheap options that you can pick up at a supermarket, I complained and they sent some additional blooms which were carnations!!! £25 in a florist gives you say more for your money.

choppolata · 04/04/2021 09:43

Is it the bunch with the daisies? Mine came on Wednesday/Thursday but looks OK today although the daisies aren't great. There's a lot of filler.

NailsNeedDoing · 04/04/2021 09:45

I received some recently and they looked utterly pathetic when they arrived, but the transformation within a few hours of being in water and having the food was amazing. It was the best thing about them! They want on to look lovely for more more than a week, give your flowers a chance OP!

Inneedofanewwardrobe · 04/04/2021 10:03

They've been in water overnight and just look horrendous. That photo was meant to show how droopy they are not bruising. Honestly all hanging over the side of the vase. Flowers are meant to be a treat and have a wow factor that's visually pleasing. I've contacted customer service and sent lots more photos.

Inneedofanewwardrobe · 04/04/2021 10:13

@Orcadianrythyms I agree it's mainly stocks and a couple of roses, and a load of filler. Maybe they were better back in the day? I have had them ages ago and they were stunning. Maybe just a bad bunch.

Woodpecker22 · 04/04/2021 11:42

I had a subscription from March last year and over the course of the year the quality, volume and range has got progressively poorer. I have now cancelled it. The first photo is one of the earlier bouquets and the second is the latest, both 3 days after arriving.

In the 2nd the flowers are already dying and the bouquet is a lot less full.

Didn’t realise that was after being in water overnight ! Think you are right to email.

LBOCS2 · 04/04/2021 12:21

That's an alstroemeria - they're not supposed to point upwards, FYI, they do have a bit of droop to them. I just sorted out my Freddie's flowers delivery (from Thursday 😳) and mine are having to be propped up on other flowers to allow the water into them. I fully expect them to be mostly recovered when I get back from a walk in a bit :)
