@ ismiseeire i am feeling tired and a bit weak but think its just from the disturbed sleep.

No real pain. I have a burning sensation in my throat almost like i have got a whole strong mint stuck. My tummie was a bit tender when the nurse examined on tuesday. It has not got any worse.

It's going on too long OP. Despite you not noticing much in terms of what is happening, your bloods might tell an entirely different story. I would urge you to go to A&E.

GoodNewsAhead · 01/04/2021 04:10

@ garlictwist hope your husbands colleague is feeling better. I think some fluids would perk me up and help get out of the cycle of sore throat discourraging drinking, then feeling awful and not being able to drink.

I would really prefer not to go if ossible. We live in the.country so its a distance to travel to A&E. i would prefer not to be there and put more pressure on the system

Feeling irrationally frustrated about a colleague making a GP appointment 3 weeks after their COVID jab to ask when they will get their 2nd. While they are not at my practice, if appointnents are being taken for things like this, when they knew they would be.contacted after 10 weeks its totally wasteful. All i an needing is someone to dip urine to see whats happening with ketones and send off a sample.

Well, you're ranting and raving, so either you're on top form or you're losing the plot. Grin Please go to A&E.

ismiseeire · 01/04/2021 04:13

At this point, you might simply need a drip in A&E. Your GP can't put you on a drip, you'll have to go to A&E.

ismiseeire · 01/04/2021 04:17

The burning in the throat sensation could be anything from heartburn to an ulcer. Please just get up off your arse, put your slippers on, book your taxi and off you go. Bring your phone, charger, toothbrush, any meds you're on, tissues, clean knickers and off you pop. Bring crisps and chocolate if you have some in the house. Bring your wallet obviously. That's about it. Tell them that you're in awful pain, have diarrhoea for however many days and that's it. They'll have you seen to, don't worry.

ismiseeire · 01/04/2021 04:20

People don't tend to worry about diarrhoea, but you can lose the most important electrolytes that way. When potassium or magnesium or sodium go low, you're at risk of muscle spasms and heart problems. I've had them when 'all' I had was diarrhoea for about 8 days. They couldn't understand how I had ended up in such a bad state.

ismiseeire · 01/04/2021 04:22

Oh and bring water, lucazade, coke or whatever you've been able to keep down. They might be a while between taking your bloods and them suggesting anything further. They might give you something called Pantoprazole through your cannula to line the stomach.

RizzleRazzle · 01/04/2021 04:29

The longer you leave it, the more ill you will get and a bigger "pressure on the system" you'll be. Go to A&E.

They can put you on a drip, check your bloods then send you home. If you leave it and become even more unwell, you may end up needing admitting.

What she said. You probably only need a drip at the moment.

If you want to win first prize for being a Martyr - here's your medal.

NO prizes for that.

TheQueef · 01/04/2021 04:38

It would be quieter now.
Wake DH, tell him where you are off to and get a cab.
One bag of fluids will make a good difference.

JJSS123 · 01/04/2021 07:20

I really hope you’ve got to a&e and had some help

GoodNewsAhead · 01/04/2021 08:15

Thanks all. Sorry fell asleep for a couple of hours, and my stomach is feeling a bit more settled.

Thanks for all of you pushing me to take things more seriously. I will put a few bits n a bag and ensure my phone and powerbank are fully charged.I have also remembered I have some left over nappies and bed mats from the DCs so can fashion something to make me feel more confident on the journey. DH is making some ground rice and banana for breakfasts and am going to try a bit of that. I plan to go in if I am not able to manage significantly more fluids today.

You really do need to go. There are no prizes for not going. I'm totally the same as you but try to think what I'd tell a friend to do. Dark scant urine isn't ok. You might "only" need fluids but better to go get them. Take care. Would you tell your friend to keep going as they are? If not then off you go

JJSS123 · 01/04/2021 09:02

I agree with the previous post. I actually felt quite well the day I was seen it was one of my better days but my body was clearly struggling and I’d just got used to it. Which is what was picked up in my urine. Please get seen you’re prolonging it without meaning too

Cheeeeislifenow · 02/04/2021 20:44

Any update op. Hope you went and feeling better.

Lsquiggles · 02/04/2021 20:47

How are you feeling OP? I hope you got some answers from your GP!

TheCanyon · 02/04/2021 21:07

Dh had non stop diarrhoea 7 weeks ago, he pestered the gp pretty much nearly everyday tbh. Sent to hospital and diagnosed with colitis within 2/3 weeks. Really crap diagnosis but at least he now knows iyswim.

GoodNewsAhead · 04/04/2021 11:47

Thanks all. Sorry have been recovering so forgot to post. I went in on Thursday morning. The 111 a&e booking service worked really well and meant i could wait at home. The fluids left me feeling much better it has been easier to push fluids at home now.
