Agree - Blackadder came along well before Bean. Bean is just silly - I don’t think people can be both Blackadder fans and Mr Bean fans - it’s one or the other.

And RA was not in the least bit attractive as any of the other Blackadders, just Lord Blackadder.

Reading far too much into this I know, but do you think the Blackadder love is because he basically plays a ladies' man? The queen clearly has a school girl crush on him and women seem to loosen their stays easily enough.

I thought I was alone with fancying Rowan Atkinson as Lord Blackadder, my school friends thought it was hilarious and took the mickey out of me for having terrible taste, so I do feel somewhat vindicated now. We binge watched it at Christmas and I still liked him so I can't say it was just a teenage thing.
