The mounting mountain of stuff on the table, anyone else

I am sure this has been done to death but I am feeling the rage at the frequency which I have to tidy detritus from the kitchen table. Loose papers, the odd penny, the recycling being put there rather than in the recycling bin.
Anyone else have one space in their house which is cleaned/tidied, only to be used as a handy spot for everything and anything?!

I went into hospital for two days at the beginning of March and in those two days some of DH's paperwork escaped from his study / office and took up residence on the big table (ca. 1m x 2m). I woke up to a vido from DD.
The paper is still there ...

I mean, a random glove. I give up!
