Just that really Grin
If you're having toast, what's your topping/spread of choice?
Bit bored of butter and jam, I need inspiration for my week day mornings this week!

Another lemon curd here, yeeeeeasssss. DP bought a jar yesterday and I always forget how outstanding it is

IeatPotNoodles · 28/03/2021 10:04

Currently making pizza cheese on toast 😍 (basically just bread covered in tomato purée then a load of cheese toasted until golden)

Home made orange, lemon and lime marmalade

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 28/03/2021 10:12

Olive oil and thinly sliced garlic. Pan de ajo. First had it for breakfast many years ago in a spanish bar in the back of beyond.

phoebewallyfridge · 28/03/2021 10:12

Cheese and Worcester sauce 😋

Whattodo121 · 28/03/2021 10:13

I made cinnamon toast bites this morning. Cut bread into slices, toss in melted butter and then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, put in a single layer on a baking tray with greaseproof paper on, bake for 10 minutes at 180 degrees, shaking half way through. They are unbelievably good, and I found this recipe during lockdown when I’d over ordered bread and was looking for ways to use it up! Bit more effort but no actual skill involved 🤣

BanningTheWordNaice · 28/03/2021 10:14

M&S maple and pecan peanut butter.

Tinned tomatoes and Mayo 😋

cultkid · 28/03/2021 10:23

I had home made mackerel pate

Ninkanink · 28/03/2021 10:25

Ohhhhh Cinammon toast! I haven’t had that in years. I think I’ll make some next weekend as a treat.

Eloisedublin123 · 28/03/2021 10:25

Guys I know this is light hearted and it’s covid crap times and all and I love avacado too but it’s so damaging to the environment. Just saying, I try to only have it as a treat at Christmas now

grafittiartist · 28/03/2021 10:26

Another vote for marmalade

Ninkanink · 28/03/2021 10:28

@Eloisedublin123 I think you should probably go talk to the vegans about that.

I eat avocado in moderation, as part of a wide-ranging diet. I’m not shovelling it down daily like a maniac.

(Apologies if you were joking)

onlyconnect · 28/03/2021 10:29

Black tahini

NatalieH2220 · 28/03/2021 10:32

Peanut butter

TheOneWithTheBigNose · 28/03/2021 10:32

Today... fried mushrooms, grilled tomato and crispy bacon! I imagine my bacon is worse for the environment than an avocado Hmm

Ninkanink · 28/03/2021 10:38

No @Eloise is right - avocados actually are exceedingly bad for the environment.

Piggyhoolier · 28/03/2021 10:39

My 2 faves are peanut butter topped with fresh raspberries, then 2nd slice of toast on top and push down to smoosh the raspberries in to a toast sarnie. Or smoked salmon pate topped with cucumber slices and black pepper. Both so good. Oh and sneaky 3rd fave is cream cheese with a bit of ham on top.

It’s all about layers when it comes to toast Smile

PrincessPea11 · 28/03/2021 10:40

Scrambled eggs and while I was waiting, a slice with houmous (bit hungover!)

dementedpixie · 28/03/2021 10:40

We had poached eggs on ours

Chocoqueen · 28/03/2021 10:45

Marmite and poached eggs. Runny yolk over marmite toast is food heaven 🥰
