Dog poo bins overflowing.

Roadworks in the village again.

Does this public footpath still exist - Yes - It’s really overgrown, who is responsible for cutting it back.

Lots of people in the village have had a card from Royal Mail saying “we have a letter for you but the sender hasn’t paid the postage”. Loads of people have gone to collect the letter and paid Royal Mail the £2 fee, to find that the letter is junk mail from Jehovah’s Witnesses. Grin

Someone trying to track down a missing parcel has posted the 'proof' of delivery, which is a photograph of a house the lady doesn't recognise, so she's asking 'does anyone round here recognise this house and might you have my parcel in your wheelie bin'.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 25/03/2021 16:49

@WilmaPantry

OOh I forgot in the for sale section...

Dog bowels free to collector

@WilmaPantry will the poor dog not need it's bowels, how does that work for 💩. (Only joking I know its a typo)

My local FB is all about roadworks, 2 sets in a very small town. One is on the upper main street which has signs to divert traffic thru the estate behind main street, however the second set of roadworks is the thru road going through the estate and has a sign to say to go through the upper main street.???

It's causing havoc so with a one way street as well for someone to go straight through the town they now have to take a 4 miles diversion to get through a 100m stretch as can't divert through the estate and one way street points the wrong direction for going around. The roadworks firm are both the same company on both areas.

BearSoFair · 25/03/2021 16:51

Complaints about Network Rail cutting down trees
Complaints about the queue length at the new vaccine centre
Someone's bike has been stolen
'What is this noise in the night????' Network Rail cutting down the trees that everyone else is talking about!

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 25/03/2021 16:53

Forgot man in red van selling pillows door to door, it's a one time offer. However he has forgotten that people remember him as he goes around here approx monthly and it's always pillows. Hotel quality, 2 for £10, would pay £28 in the shops lol

Notgoingonholiday · 25/03/2021 17:05

Someone needs a dentist as they've broken their tooth, 33 comments on that so far.

Someone's conservatory door is not closing properly, can anyone recommend someone that knows a person who can give me the number of someone who can help...etcGrin

Probably most exciting is the issue with swans at the business park lakes/ponds. There's an aggressive one that has been reported as attacking people recently. Countless posts about needing a fence (tagging of local councillor), people need to leave them alone/respect them, they'd better be careful as a swan can break a leg etc...

NerrSnerr · 25/03/2021 17:30

Ours is fairly quiet at the moment. Someone has found some BMW keys in a lay-by, the temporary lights near the co-op are not in sync and the person in the car behind the OP shouldn't have been beeping at her to go as it was on red (I suspect it was stuck on red), and one person got cross as the GP didn't sort a repeat prescription in 24 hours even though they're clear that they need 5 working days. That kicked off as anyone suggesting she should have given it more time had not empathy.

SockQueen · 25/03/2021 17:36

Someone's car got nicked, has anyone got any CCTV to help?

Isn't it nice to hear all the kids back at school having fun at break time?

Bin men seem to have missed a few streets.

Quite a few sales posts - taxi service, car valeting, pretzel delivery, homemade curry (I've had the last one and it's yummy!)

A thrill a minute round here!

ShirleyPhallus · 25/03/2021 17:36

Loads of “found this bank card, PM me with account details to return.

Why not just cut the card up or check on fb for the person of that name you idiot.

Also discussions around the local bakery and how they’ve changed the system for hot food to be a different til to bakery stuff and what will everyone do if they want both?

Discussions around an area of beauty locally that was featured in a magazine but now locals think it’s had too much publicity and they don’t want too many people invading

Saladd0dger · 25/03/2021 17:42

Bonfires and dog Pooh

AngieBolen · 25/03/2021 17:55

Someone saw a bunny and thought it was a lost pet, but several other people said there are "wild" rabbits in that area which look like pets. (The photo was of a domestic type of rabbit) The original poster said the rabbit seemed to know its way around! Confused

Eggsley · 25/03/2021 18:03

The neighbouring village had an escaped cow on the loose yesterday, seen heading towards the shop. Eyewitnesses and photos confirmed Cow was using the pavement and observing social distancing. Every farmer in a 10 miles radius tagged in post. Cow's owner later confirmed it was his cow and had been returned to the field.

Usually it's dog poo, bad driving/parking, noisy teens/vandals at the playground, shop opening times, WHERE IS THE HERMES DRIVER??, which bin is it today, bus route being axed/not axed, planning for new housing developments, cat lost, crap/no internet, water pressure, water, electricity etc. And lovely photos of sunrise/sunset/stars.

Tiktokersmiracle · 25/03/2021 18:08

Lateral flow tests are available at the uni for all, which desecended into a massive argument between people who are happy to hear this and people who are anti-vax, anti-test, anti-lockdown, anti-mask and anti of thinking.

Dognappers in crocs and purple pajamas

Graffiti- is it vandalism or is it art? We have a Banksy/Robbo war currently, which actually isn't a Banksy/Robbo war at all, in fact the latest "Banksy" has been signed by someone called "peachy" but much excitement versus "it's disgraceful he should be arrested" has been a theme for at least a fortnight.

Snowpatrolling · 25/03/2021 18:09

I’m admin on our community page and we currently have a brawl over someone ordering a toasted sandwich!!!

dannydyerismydad · 25/03/2021 18:22

Ooo @Tiktokersmiracle we must be neighbours.

What's your thought on the skinny bins?

stevematekatemate · 25/03/2021 18:25

Road kill - rural town.

Cable ties attached to anything = dog nappers

Phone number needed for Hermès, DPD and Yodel drivers.

Anyone got a property to rent = 5 beds, 3 baths for £250 a month please.

Vaccine hate and love.

maxineputyourredshoeson · 25/03/2021 18:30

We’ve had - does anyone recognise this strange man who was walking down my path today - pic included. 100+ comments and 99% confirm it’s the new Hermes driver delivering to their address. The other 1% think they should ring 101 and report as they might be dog napper/a burgler/casing the joint. But I can confirm it is the Hermes driver as he delivers to my house Grin

mindutopia · 25/03/2021 18:30

They want high speed fibre broadband. We literally can’t even get BT to connect to our house (so we have no landline and use mobile broadband) so I’m not interested.

Nothing of any real excitement happens here though. The most exciting thing was about 2 months ago when the fish and chip shop in the neighbouring village ranted about how the pub had fish and chips on the menu for their one night a week of takeaway. Everyone was just a bit Hmm .

GoldenOmber · 25/03/2021 18:30

“Does anyone know whose cat this is?”, “we got this letter for Lizzie Brown but she doesn’t live here does anyone know where she is” (someone always does), photos of the high street 30 years ago, and some muppet posting that godawful Corned Beef of my Childhood poem.

DemiBourbon · 25/03/2021 18:34

Mystery loud bang and too many kids on skateboards. And dog poo.

BoomTastic1 · 25/03/2021 18:34

Local theatre has filmed its latest production which can be purchased.

Two missing cats.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 25/03/2021 18:36

New roundabout still being planned for the village

Police officer with speed 'gun' was seen outside primary school

Moans about broadband speeds again

Community council officiousness

Just the usual, nothing exciting this week... 😔

Unescorted · 25/03/2021 18:43

Offers of 5 random plates, 3 teapots, a butter dish, cardboard boxes which might be useful for moving and jars.
Request for the number of the plumber (it is a daily thing)
Stolen car
Speeding
People not from this area

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 25/03/2021 18:45

White van (dog stealers?!)
Dodgy looking “forriners” driving round slowly (dog stealers? Or burglars?)
Praise for local doctors surgeries giving vaccines
Swan in a pickle, can someone call the swan man? And can we get the swan man a MBE or something (That’s probably a bit of a location outing clue)

gottomove · 25/03/2021 19:05

5 posts and counting as Santander is closing down in July and now all that will be left is 'charity shops and overpriced wine bars'.

A road that was shut at least 7/8 years ago is finally getting sorted and work is to start in May (although no one will believe it until they see it).

Who is the best mobile provider for coverage, there's been 3 posts in the last 24 hours about this which is odd.

A screenshot of a centre parcs quote which is £10k for 7 nights, causing much anger.

Moaning about e scooters.

An argument about a near miss car accident this morning, someone put a post up as someone pulled out on her and she was 'only' doing 25mph but would've hit them if she was going faster, except the speed limit is 20mph so now she is the one getting slated.
