I've just watched Mums List. Proper sobbing watching it and I don't even have children.

Eight Below, Haachi and Marley & Me are sad too.

I was going to say Marley and Me when I opened the thread. I properly sobbed my heart out at that.

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 23/03/2021 20:18

Bambi
Cathy Come Home (I cried and cried with my DM)

Lanique · 23/03/2021 20:19

Loads already mentioned on here: Boy in the striped pyjamas, Marley and Me etc.

I sobbed (whilst on a flight of all places) at On Chesil Beach. I'd already read the book so I knew what would happen, but it didn't move me as much as the film.

Funnily enough, I also sobbed at The Children Act far more than the book. Again, I knew the ending but the film knocked me sideways.

It must be Ian McEwan's dry writing style, genius as it is.

The Incredible Journey. Sometimes my DP describes the scene at the end when the animals return, just to see if he can make me cry. Always works.

I, Daniel Blake stayed with me for a very long time.

@NotExactlyHappyToHelp

Stepmom broke my heart. There’s a brilliant film no one I know seems to have watched called 50/50 with Joseph Gordon Levitt that makes me bawl, it’s based on a true story and it’s gut wrenching to watch.

Not a film but a series but I’m still not over It’s A Sin.

I was going to say 50/50. Heartbreaking.
Nanalisa60 · 23/03/2021 21:46

I forgot the one that makes me cry from the beginning to the end is Doctor Zhivago !!

winniestone37 · 23/03/2021 21:46

I agree Never Let me go is gut wrenching also Broke back mountain, I don’t think I have ever been so heart broken and moved by a love story.

Germolenequeen · 23/03/2021 21:47
