I've just watched Mums List. Proper sobbing watching it and I don't even have children.

Eight Below, Haachi and Marley & Me are sad too.

I also bawl my eyes out whenever I watch Toy Story 3.

fizbosshoes · 22/03/2021 19:56

@LittlePearl
I was on the verge of tears the first time I watched it (the incinerator scene). Now the DC are teen/tween they (quite unreasonably) wouldnt come to the cinema to watch toy story 4, and I didnt think I could go alone they were probably worried I would cry at the cinema and embarrass them

Allergytowhat · 22/03/2021 19:59

Dumbo the cartoon and the live action. Goddamn that sweet baby of mine song. Hits far to close to home for me

likeamillpond · 22/03/2021 20:01

Lucylolly · 22/03/2021 20:10

A place for Annie and rescue of Jessica McClure were two that broke me as a teen 💓

Wowwellokthen · 22/03/2021 20:12

Who will love my children.... Omg

likeamillpond · 22/03/2021 20:12

@gollymissdolly

Philomena

The boy in the striped pyjamas (any Holocaust film has me in tears)

Who will love my children (a true story).I watched it with my DM many years ago and we were both sobbing .

I remember who will love my children. I can still hear the song they sang on their front porch before they were all split up.

Another similar made for tv (true films) is where a single mother loses her job then she loses her accommodation and ends living in homeless shelters and rat infested houses with her young daughter. It takes place in America and is so chilling because you know it goes on for real.

There' another similar one, American again, only it's a whole family who's apartment burns down and they spiral down.
If you want tearjerker stories go on true movies!Shock

Alex. The life of a child.

Cried buckets.

candlemasbells · 22/03/2021 20:18

The Magdalene sisters. I watched it pre kids and wept I’d be worse now.
The grapes of wrath
The bridges of madison county

Withnail and I I watched it many times in my 20s. Watched it about 8 years ago when my life was going nowhere and I just cried.

Absolutelyscunnered · 22/03/2021 20:28

Lorenzo’s oil. Watched before I had dc and it still had me in tears.

Disfordarkchocolate · 22/03/2021 20:34

I'm glad someone mentioned Leaving Las Vegas. I love this film.

Nil by Mouth and Secrets and Lies touched me very deeply.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 22/03/2021 20:35

Not so much films but parts in them.

The boy in the stripe pyjamas. I ugly cried snot bubbles and tears watch that.
I think it especially touched me because my nephew is around the same age as the little boy.

Bambi. Where his mummy gets killed.

Dumbo. The way they were holding trunks through the railings.

The others. Where upon realizing they were dead the little girl went to the window and said "Mummy look it doesn't hurt anymore" The kids had an allergy to anything stronger than candle light.
It just made me think of people finding peace upon death.

Marley and me. Where Marley passed away and he was saying A dog doesnt care if your rich or poor, again snot and ugly tears. Its so true animals love you unconditionally and without judgement.

Step mom.
