What's Hoseasons like?

Is it very varied? Is it more like Butlins or Center Parcs 😂

No one? It's hard to search their website because all the places seem so different and I don't really know what I'm looking for. Anyone been and recommend?

Center Parcs are one homogeneous brand. They own their sites, they’re all much the same. I believe Butlins is similar. Hoseasons is more of a booking agent, they don’t own or control what they’re advertising and they have a huge range of accommodation from cottages to caravan sites to boats. They’ll all be different. I don’t think you can really compare them to Center Parcs, they’re just different businesses. It’s like asking if anyone has been to Airb&b.

Hoseasons are a v expensive way to access great holiday parks, by paying a middle man to buy your holiday direct from the park and sell it to you.

Hoseasons are a travel agent, rather than an actual holiday brand so will depend which site you're looking at.

GrilledCheeze · 21/03/2021 19:00

So it's like Skye Cottages or similar? Can I book direct - any idea how?

I've not found this! I've always found it cheaper to go through them holiday parks wise. They do a blue light discount also.

Google the site name. It'll tell you who owns it and you can book direct through them, or if it's a holiday park you can often book through private owners for cheaper. They don't always include passes etc so make sure you double check!
GrilledCheeze · 21/03/2021 19:14

Sorry, I'm going to sound stupid now but: passes for what?

Entertainment

DavidsSchitt · 21/03/2021 19:24

Which holiday park is it?

dudsville · 21/03/2021 19:24

I did this once by accident. Be sure you know what you're getting.

HeddaGarbled · 21/03/2021 19:31

Hoseasons sites are more downmarket than Center Parcs, IMO.

GrilledCheeze · 21/03/2021 20:07

@DavidsSchitt

Which holiday park is it?
I don't even know. So many to look at!!

Maybe Lady's Mile? Or Penrhos Park?

Did what? Booked Hoeseasons???

@HeddaGarbled similar to Butlins? We love CP, we've only been to Butlins once and would rather not return...
OP posts:
dudsville · 21/03/2021 20:08

Yes, honestly, I didn't know what it was. Thought I was just booking a hotel! I wasn't thrilled.

HeddaGarbled · 21/03/2021 20:16

Somewhere in between (Center Parcs & Butlins), I’d say. So, there’ll be a clubhouse with entertainment in the evenings, but no other organised entertainment. Accommodation inferior to Center Parcs but not as barrack-like as Butlins.

How on earth did you manage that? It's pretty clear what you're booking!
RomainingCalm · 21/03/2021 21:02

@GrilledCheeze We've used Hoseasons a lot and would throughly recommend them assuming that you do your research.

We tend to go for the smaller sites with lodges and use it as a base to explore the area. It's nice if there's a pub/restaurant on the site (but we're happy to self-cater) and DC have used the pool if there is one but apart from that we're not bothered about a clubhouse or entertainment. Some of the 'Go Active' sites have an activity programme but nothing like the scale of Center Parcs.

The standard of accommodation has always been high ime.

I would suggest reading the reviews and descriptions and know what you want - large/small, caravan/lodge, close to beach/town/pubs etc. If you Google you'll often find a map to get an idea of the size. We've also been to CP several times and never left the site - for us they are very different holidays.

dudsville · 21/03/2021 21:08

I forget now what the site was called but it was the early days of some website that gave deals on a random range of things like teeth whitening, meals out, etc. "Wowza"? Something like that. I was poor, it looked like some countryside hotel.

dudsville · 21/03/2021 21:09

Has everyone else just grown up knowing what hoseasons is?

GrilledCheeze · 21/03/2021 21:15

Don't worry @dudsville I suggested to DH that we could go to Hoeseasons this year and he was like "what now?!"

I love CP. Never done Butlins but we did Pontins once, never again.
Hoseasons has some lovely places. look at the reviews. We booked a lovely house last year in Devon and have a lodge booked in Lakes this summer.

Hoppythehippo · 21/03/2021 21:35

Wowcher Dudsville.

But yeah, I’d no more talk about visiting Hoseasons than visiting booking.com or Airb&b. I thought it was fairly obvious from their website.

Have you thought about Bluestone OP? I’ve not been but it always seems to come up in “where is like CP but not CP?” conversations. Or Forest Holidays?
