I’m looking for inspiration.

Not tuna.

Thick butter and brown lentils.

Alfiemoon1 · 20/03/2021 15:24

Corned beef salmon

Quaagars · 20/03/2021 15:38

I'm confused lol
So you're asking for inspiration for things to put in a sandwich from a tin as you have nothing in fresh?
Would it not help us to find out what tins you have in already in order to come up with ideas?
As if you've got to go to the shop anyway you could get either tin or fresh stuff

VanGoghsDog · 20/03/2021 15:48

@TheBusiness

I haven’t got anything fresh for a sandwich in the fridge. No ham or anything. I could boil an egg.

I love corned beef and tinned salmon.

But have you got any?
ifigoup · 20/03/2021 15:55

I love tinned crab in a sandwich, if you’re feeling decadent (and are posh enough to have a tin of crab lurking in your cupboard).

PandaFluff · 20/03/2021 15:57

Does it have to be tins or will Jars do

PandaFluff · 20/03/2021 15:57

Tinned chili con carne? But that's probably best heated up.

PandaFluff · 20/03/2021 15:58

A fray bentos pie?

GeorgiaGirl52 · 20/03/2021 15:58

Peanut butter and
(choose one) honey, jelly, jam, crispy bacon, sliced banana or sliced apple.

imyournextdoorneighbour · 20/03/2021 16:08

Sardines with lettuce! Smile

katy1213 · 20/03/2021 16:16

Does it have to be a tin? I'd have hummus and grated carrot.

PandaFluff · 20/03/2021 16:19

@ForeverBubblegum

If you're asking because you don't have fresh stuff in and want a sandwich, surely the place to start is to look what tins are in the cupboard
Yeah what tins have you got? Meatballs? Pinepple?
Notgoingonholiday · 20/03/2021 16:22

This is so weird Grin

dragonsmoke · 20/03/2021 16:24

I feel like this whole conversation is topsie turvy....

PandemicAtTheDisco · 20/03/2021 16:25

crab mixed with mayo, mustard, lemon juice, paprika and cooked frozen peas.

crab with mayo, chilli sauce, lime juice, frozen coriander leaves, mashed avocado (frozen avocado slices thawed) - sometimes add tinned, drained grapefruit.

Kezzie200 · 20/03/2021 16:28

Tuna is nicer if mix it with boiled eggs, chopped gherkin, and mayonnaise.

XiCi · 20/03/2021 16:33

Poshest store cupboard sarnie ever PandemicAtTheDisco Smile

Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 20/03/2021 16:35

Mint sauce and butter -

Brown sugar and butter - best on hot toast

I use the frozen crab(fish) sticks sometimes!
TheBusiness · 20/03/2021 16:39

I’ve got loads of tins. Everything you can think of. Sardines, salmon, chopped pork, tinned curry, beans, spaghetti, even a Fray Bentos pie!

I thought there might be a few concoctions I could make for a change!

Good call. If you had one of those giant bread cakes you could do a super sized pie barm.

You could probably cut it into wedges to serve like cake.

StanfordPines · 20/03/2021 16:42

What is happening here?

isseys4xmastinselcats · 20/03/2021 16:44

tuna and mayo, or corned beef and branston pickle with salady stuff

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 20/03/2021 16:45

F I could eat bread (sob can't anymore)
I'd choose....

Cold baked beans
Cold mushy peas/marrow fat peas & HP sauce

If desperate

cold carrots & potatoes smashed together
Mexican beans
Tomatoes

Pretty much any tin tbh 🤣

I miss bread a lot, so I'd be happy with bread in the bread 🤣

Curry and a tin of fruit and you've got a sort of coronation chicken.

Do report back once you've tried a few things
