I just found a strangers travel card in the hall -wtf?

Just started tidying up and found a saltire card issued by my local council; googled and it's a travel card/ bus pass. It was sitting face down next to a storage box. I've had a look round the house, checked for missing stuff and locked the door.

I do have dc, primary school but they go to school on the bus (rural) and come back again. Can't think where they could of picked it up. Maybe they found it a long time ago and it's been played with and dropped. We drive everywhere though and it's no one I know.

Any ideas as to how it made it into the house?

That is strange but I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. I found an SD micro card in my hallway last week a couple of hours after I’d hoovered No idea how it got there. I’ve never owned one and I haven’t checked if there’s anything on it

Just food shopping has come in really a couple of Amazon deliveries but everything comes in via the utility, Amazon stuff unpacked at the kitchen table. Contents decanted, Box in recycling. If I'd of found it in the utility I'd go with the shoe thing but childrens shoes are forbidden in my house!

I am going to take more care to lock up after myself, it's easy to get a bit lax when you live in the sticks.

The place where you found it. Could it have potentially been there for ages? Or would you have noticed it do you think? Also if its valid until december, those things are likely valid for a year, so I suppose it must have arrived there December or later. Were you away over christmas?

I think there definitely isn't a logical explanation for this and will probably turn into a series of strange and unexplained events in your home.

I'm sure it wasn't there when I last cleaned the hall floor. last Monday. I've not been anywhere for ages (excellent at lockdown). I do have a dog though so walking. I don't always lock the door tbh. I'm wondering if a delivery driver has turned up knocked and came in maybe squatted down for a rummage and something has fallen out a pocket.

My postie as standard delivers parcels and pops them inside the utility. Not his photo or name though.

No workmen in the house for months not since November and he only came as far as utility as he'd come to service the boiler.

I'd quite like a wee ghostie, hopefully one who made the place feel warm not one where you feel a sudden chill. Fuel bills are high enough.

Well I think you’d have notice that solution is only obvious to you. Everyone else is thinking a kid or someone else found it and sat it on the side.

I would be asking the police to ‘return’ it. They might just check up on the person or he may be known to them already. I would at least ask their opinion.

Why not send a quick email to the school office?
It might belong to a member of staff

It doesn't belong to a member of staff at the school. Small local school I know the staff. There was one bloke last year who taught ICT but the rest is all women The kids don't know anything about it.

I might drop it into the local precinct when I pass and give it over as found and explain where just in case the explanation is not innocent.
