I've developed a terrible habit of narrating myself through my life in the manner of an American YouTuber

Especially disturbing as I'm neither a youtuber, nor American. And it's not any old American accent either, it's a southern drawl. I never knew I could do one even, yet here I am doing one regularly throughout the day! Shock

I can't understand it, and it's surely only a matter of time until I'm caught in the act.

I've always nattered away to myself, especially when I'm concentrating, apparently I click my tongue too as I was told today 🤦‍♀️ (feel sorry for my colleague that was training me over teams, she said she's learnt its a sign I know what I'm doing and doesn't need to have any input)

I've also been known to hum my own hold music when on hold haha.

@Tulipsy272

I present country file every afternoon at around 2pm whilst walking my dog.
😂😂

It's good to hear it's a fairly common phenomenon :). And I'm liking very much the idea that I was a southern belle in a former life, I will embrace that wholeheartedly I think. I might even start dressing the part ...

@ZackaryQuack does the hold music you hum vary depending on who you're holding for? My dd hums when she's eating something she likes - she's done it ever since she was tiny and she's 26 now. I love hearing her!

I’m really glad to see this. I’ve been doing it more since lockdown. Not an American accent but I get a kind of internal narrative when I’m doing things. A bit like Peep Show. I think it’s a combination of watching too many you tubers - I sometimes have them on in the background when doing chores - and an overactive imagination.

I'm also guilty if occasionally forgetting the entire conversation was in my head and talking out loud . Less of a YouTuber style akd more like JD from scrubs I guess

@Bikeley haha yes! If it's a call I'm not keen on my dh said it sounds like I'm humming a remixed funeral march Hmm

But generally it's a doo de doo de doooo if you can get that tune 🤣
