This isn't a royal family bashing thread..just interested to know how people would vote once the Queen has died and the was a vote on whether to keep the royal family or not.. a simple yes ( to keep ) or no.

This story took up nearly all the news last night. I was 😡. Why is this so important?

Ds is a journalist, he’s royally (!) fucked of at writing about it.

ChancesWhatChances · 09/03/2021 09:56

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow perhaps he needs a change of career then?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 09/03/2021 10:02

He doesn’t cover the royals very often. Mostly he does Covid, Brexit, Trump ( when in power) and politics. He loves his job apart from the boredom of covering unecessary overpaid self important parasites.

The royals are🥱

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow except all of our politicians, celebrities, trump and even the shit show that is Brexit are all self important parasites. His mother moaning about how bored he isn’t doesn’t exactly paint him in a good light as a journalist, no wonder the news has gone to shit if that’s their attitude these days Hmm

dracualla · 09/03/2021 10:43

Yes only if it skips to William after the Queen

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 09/03/2021 10:44

But these are all important issues. The Royals aren’t....

That’s the difference..

I don't understand answers like this. The point of the monarchy is that the heir has a hereditary right to rule, no matter what people think of them. If you want to have a say in your head of state, you're supporting the wrong system.

I'm sure they themselves all think it's a load of archaic nonsense, but they go along with it because they don't know what else to do. And money/privilege. And if that's the case, how can they respect people who come out to cheer them? Just visit a hospital or somewhere, and people will think you give a toss, w.t.f.
I don't respect the Queen either, for the way she lobbied to get laws passed to try and protect her already massive wealth. And for the way she has publicly supported Prince Andrew.

Oh, I'm sorry! One word.
