Which two days would you choose to go into the office?

So from September our office will be back 2 days a week and continue to wfh 3 days. Obviously you can go in more if you want but it’s a minimum of 2 days in the office.

My team are thinking of jointly deciding on our 2 days so that we don’t go in and find there’s no one else there.

Which two days would you choose to go in? I was thinking Friday maybe as the commute is likely to be quieter but then I also like to start my weekend as soon as I close my laptop.
Or maybe Thursdays as that’s when I’m more likely to meet friends after work for dinner.

I live in London zone 3 and have a 1hr door to door commute on the overground or train if that makes a difference.

Monday and Tuesday , get it over with and also bank holidays.

MyDcAreMarvel · 06/03/2021 17:50

Wanting company why? I can’t think of anything worse than working with other people.

Some people enjoy it. I can't think of anything worse than working at home on my own!
tiredmum2468 · 06/03/2021 17:58

If I lived further away I'd work from home on a Friday as the traffic is much worse

BellamyBells · 06/03/2021 18:00

I'd do Tuesday and Thursday. Or Tuesday and Friday (as Friday is quiet) but if you have a long commute Tuesday and Thursday.

orangejuicer · 06/03/2021 18:02

Wednesday and Friday

Desmondo2016 · 06/03/2021 18:05

Ooh definitely not Monday. You never get the back to work blues on any other day than Sunday! And let's face it the evening before a day working from home is VASTLY different to the evening before having to get up and go to work. And look human.

I'd say Tuesday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.

Desmondo2016 · 06/03/2021 18:05

Although actually, Friday is quite nice to be in the office for the Friday Feeling and post work drinks... remember them?!

soundsystem · 06/03/2021 18:10

Yep, Monday and Thursday! (I actually do Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and it works well)

AIMD · 06/03/2021 18:28

Tues and thurs breaks the week up a bit!

MargaretThursday · 06/03/2021 19:12

Tomorrow and Yesterday Grin

I'd go for Tuesday and Wednesday.

DrunkBetch · 06/03/2021 19:31

It would be Tuesday Thursday for me. Mondays are fairly quiet and I'm the same with wanting to start my weekend right away on a Friday.

Hod19 · 06/03/2021 19:44

I'd go for Tues and Thurs too

gingerninja99 · 06/03/2021 19:49

@SimonJT

Monday Tuesday.

Monday as it means bank holidays seem more of a treat, Tuesday because I prefer working consecutive days if I’m at alternate sites.

This is what my preference has been put down as, get it all over and done with the the end of the week at home so I can clear the washing etc before the weekend so it should give me more free time
thedevilinablackdress · 06/03/2021 20:02

We're going to have to be sheaf across the week for our in-office days where we go back as we've moved to a smaller bouncing with fewer desks in the interim. It won't be able to accommodate everyone going on in the most popular days.

thedevilinablackdress · 06/03/2021 20:02

sheaf??

PufferFishGoneWrong · 06/03/2021 20:03

Monday and Tuesday for me too.

thedevilinablackdress · 06/03/2021 20:03

bouncing???

Dear God, I haven't even been drinking

Carycy · 06/03/2021 20:36

I think I would pick three regular days with maybe one of them that everyone is definitely in.
So maybe Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, with Tuesday as the non negotiable day.

pigglepot · 06/03/2021 21:03

Is there anyone in your team who lives outside London so might need to stay overnight? If so then it might need to be consecutive days that you're all in if you have to all be in on the same days. Just wondered if it was something you had to consider?

TwatWaffleTwinkleToes · 06/03/2021 21:07

Tuesdays and Thursdays for me.

Monday is not so horrible as don't have to get 'proper' dressed r commute.

No 2 days in a row so any bad day is going to be followed by something different.

Fridays are always more chilled as at home.

willowstar · 06/03/2021 22:16

I have been doing this all along and have gone for Monday and Friday and it works really well for now. It means I have the three days in the middle to hit my homeworking stride and keep in top of laundry...I may change though when things get back to normal so that we can head off for weekends away late Friday afternoon perhaps.

AnneElliott · 06/03/2021 22:19

I'd say Monday and Thursday as well. Last year we went back one day a week and our team got given Thursdays. All the other Rama thought we had the best day!

ihaveallergies · 06/03/2021 22:20

Any combination from Tuesday-Thursday

Lazypuppy · 06/03/2021 22:21

I'm thinking even tues/weds or weds/thurs. Definitely not mondays or fridays
