The healthiest biscuits that are actually nice

I have a terrible packet of biscuit habit and I need to wean off onto something a bit healthier, but I can't go cold turkey which probably would be a better choice 😉----

What's the best and healthiest. Also I'd prefer not zillions in a pack and I can't stop myself. I'm otherwise a healthy eater, exercise, active and don't drink. Maybe a tad overweight due to the biscuits though.

@peridito
@Fortunefavours1

8oz porridge oats
8oz ripe/very ripe peeled bananas, mashed
1tsp baking powder
2oz melted butter
2oz oil (I use groundnut oil)
1 egg beaten

Mix dry ingredients, add wet ingredients and mix altogether.

Blob 1tbsp of mix onto greased baking sheets and squash a little. Should make 30-32 small biscuits on 2 baking sheets (just).
Bake at 170C Fan for 20-30 minutes until light golden brown.

Sainsburys do corn thins with dark chocolate coating packaged in packs of 2. Kallo do the same but not individual packs so you might eat the whole pack.

Just popping back to say that I made these this afternoon and they are very nice with a pleasingly chewy centre .

I did add a little cinnamon and nutmeg .And a little finely chopped crystalised ginger . Might add chopped nuts instead next time ....still fairly healthy ???

Must be a forgiving recipe as I forgot to add the oil and had to scrape the biscuits off the baking sheet back into the bowl and then add the forgotten ingredient .Which I had gone out specially to get from our corner shop!

My weakness is chocolate. I keep it in the shed at the bottom of the garden. I play on my lazy streak. Got to be prepared to put the effort in to get it. Cuts out the mindless impulsive nibbling.

Make one yourself. Then you know it's healthy.

These cookies are easy to make and don't make you feel guilty eating them.

Can you look at your whole diet?

I have found that since switching to porridge and fruit for breakfast, I don’t get my 11am hunger pains and can last to lunchtime (most days).

Also, if I do feel peckish, I make myself a herbal tea. I think just going through the process of making it helps to break the sweet biscuit need, plus drinking it quells that sweetness.

Ginger nuts. Small, but lots of flavour so you don't need more than a couple.

Not jaffa cakes, they are mostly sugar.
