Afternoon off work today so I'd planned to have a couple of friends round (it's allowed here) for wine and crisps in the garden 🍷However Mother Nature has scuppered our plans so I've decided to 'go to the pub' instead The pub is in Liverpool or Dublin and has the following:

Open fire
Pool table
Jukebox
Free, unlimited brandy
Strapping but polite men

Who'd like to join me? I'll save you a seat

Am I too late? I'll buy a round for everyone if you don't mind budging up a bit!

Is that it, is that all I'm getting?. Well, I'll give poor old Roger a go if you like. I'm a bit rusty but after 3 pints I won't care.

Very large glass of cold Chardonnay please. And a couple of those little snack packs that have cream crackers, dairylea spread & silverskin pickled onions in please.

Mine would be the bar near the family home in the west of Ireland. We'd stroll in and sit up at the bar and see who else was about. The wind and rain would be raging outside but the turf would be blazing in the stove.

DH has been off alcohol since lockdown started but I think once we are back there he'll be back on the Guinness. I'd start with a Hendricks and tonic and move onto red wine. We'd sit and chat and catch up on the gossip and eventually walk home through the wind and the rain to our own turf fire and cheese toasties .

Now I've made myself cry.

I’m gearing up for the quiz. Getting into the zone. (Snakebite makes me much better at quizzes, as well as better at pool, and pulling men). Do any of you mind if I do this hilarious (to me) thing whereby I deliberately say the wrong answer really loudly each time, in the hope that I will cunningly mislead our opposition?

And what are we winning? (When we inevitably win?). Loads of free rounds?

Red wine please, just a merlot but a large glass. I've got my heels and nice earrings on even though it's a Wednesday - nice to dress up. I'll take a table near the fire, always a but chilly!
