What tea would you recommend to someone who didn't like tea?

I've never enjoyed tea (or coffee) but would like a hot drink that isn't hot chocolate.

I wondered if there were types of tea that were less, um, tea like? Probably a stupid question tbh 😂 Preferably ones that don't need milk added, I'd like something a bit refreshing and not too bitter.

Peppermint all the way. It's my favourite drink. I've got so many people into liking it. I buy the Sainsbury's own brand. Twinnings is good but pricier. Teapigs do a very minty expensive one in a cloth type bag. I'd go with twinnings 20 to try.

So refreshing, no milk. I have a large mug from whittards so to get the most tea I can.

Another vote for rooibos or whichever brand does vanilla rooibos.

Tea makes me vomit (even the smell of it). I drink fruit teas (strawberry and mango, peppermint, chamomile and honey etc), hot squash, horlicks (the instant one made with water or proper one with milk), hot chocolate, coffee, hot milk with sugar free syrup in it (the kind you can use in fancy coffees), hot water with lemon or I just stick to a cold drink

If I want a warm drink but not tea/coffee/peppermint/red bush, I have high juice apple squash made with hot water.

Twinnings fennel tea is amazing, i also love mint tea but not peppermint.
Marks and spencer do a mint and turmeric that is really nice too.

Tik Tok rooibos. Don't make it strong and put some sugar in it

I love liquorice tea, also green tea with mint.

Caramelwhispers · 25/02/2021 05:13

Earl Grey or Lady Grey. Don't buy twinning brand though as they use flavouring rather than Bergamot oil. It makes a huge difference, Twinnings Earl Grey is weak on Bergamot flavouring and tastes more like black tea.

If you have a,garden or even space near a window for a pot, grow some mint and use a few leaves for mint tea. Lovely!

I used to like Rose pouchong, can't find it anywhere in a supermarket now.
Lapsang isn't like any ordinary tea, its either something you love or loathe. I love it, its very refreshing in hot weather.

Maybe an infusion rather than a tea.

I'm mostly a coffee drinker but if I make tea it is Earl Grey, made in a teapot and fairly weak.

You can just drink hot water, and then experiment with adding honey or lemon or mint or whatever you fancy.

Cream tea.
Clotted cream or jam first, either way is good.
