Just that really. I'm addressing my bad eating habits and planning my food.

I don't mean "massive salad". I do like a nice salad but not generally in winter.

I think your lunch sounds OK OP.
Are you trying to lose weight or just "clean up" your diet?

I often have couscous with Falafel & whatever salad veg I have in (tomatoes/cucumber/peppers). Or I have some cooked flavoured chicken or tuna.

Occasionally have soup like the asda slim zone Mexican chicken & bean or a lentil soup as they are more filling. I struggle to actually feel full without a small roll or something with it though....

lurker101 · 22/02/2021 13:14

We do salmon fillet( lemon juice, garlic granules and chilli flakes) in the oven with some couscous and spinach on the side a couple of times a week when we want a light lunch. Really tasty and filling

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 22/02/2021 13:14

Soup - home made spicy carrot and lentil (dead easy) or half a carton of chiller cabinet soup if on special offer. With a small slice of whole meal toast, a satsuma

A seeded flatbread toasted with cheese inside - easy on the cheese, with salad.

Avocado on toast

Sardines on toast

Your lunch sounds fine.

ServeTheServants · 22/02/2021 13:16

I have two slices of turkey bacon, 2 eggs and sometimes some spaghetti hoops / slice of low cal toast. I ought to swap the turkey bacon for chicken really, but the turkey bacon is just so low calorie.

Ronnii · 22/02/2021 13:16

For lunch lately I've been cooking some quinoa, steaming some broccoli over the same pan, then mixing all together with peppers and pesto

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 22/02/2021 13:19

I've just had dry fried light halloumi in a Tortilla wrap spread with mango chutney and rocket leaves - delicious!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 22/02/2021 13:19

@ImFree2doasiwant

I've just had a sandwich with seeded bread, ham, mustard (no butter). Some cucumber, and grapes. Is this way off the mark do you think?
I think that sounds fine. If I have a sandwich for lunch, I like to have lots of veg on the side to fill me up. I love raw sugar snaps, so a handful of those, some radish, carrot sticks etc. I also bloody love pickled gherkins so often have those with a sandwich. It makes it far more interesting than having "just a sandwich" for lunch, without adding too many calories

I really like some kind of bean salad for lunch. DP makes a lovely one with mixed beans, tuna, roasted peppers and green beans. He'll make a massive bowlful to keep in the fridge to do us for a couple of days worth of lunches. Any kind of tinned beans with lean protein would work, just play around with the flavours to see what you like. Green lentils with beetroot and crumbled feta with a minty dressing is also delicious!

Homemade soup
Hard boiled eggs chopped up with a little butter and salt, sometimes with toast
Porridge or cereal
Cous cous with veg, salmon or tuna and lemon
A toastie
Platter of raw veg, humous, cheeses, and pickles
Fruit smoothie and a sandwich
Leftover dinners

ImFree2doasiwant · 22/02/2021 13:32

@CaptainCarp I do want to lose weight, but I want to do it sustainably and am happy for it to be slow. I've got 2 small DC so want to eat well in front of them if that makes sense, normally rather than "diet"

AnnaSW1 · 22/02/2021 13:33

Most days it's soup

Squishedpickle · 22/02/2021 13:39

Poached egg on crushed peas and ham, sometimes with an English muffin, always with chilli flakes

Leftover veg hash with poached egg and hot sauce

Bean salad with Pesto and parma ham

Many many soups!

MysweetAudrina · 22/02/2021 13:39

Today it was hard boiled eggs with mayo mixed through on 2 slices of brown soda bread.

VanGoghsDog · 22/02/2021 13:43

Scrambled eggs and poached salmon, green salad.

Wrap with felafel, salad, avocado, grated carrot, jalapenos (and humous if I've got any).

Sometimes a jacket potato and tuna/coleslaw/cheese

Small pizza
Sweet potato baked with tuna
Chicken, tomato, salad leaves, dressing
Soup and baked bread roll
(1/2 a packet) filled pasta like raviloi
fish cake
Pulled pork with salad
Cold meat and cheese platter
Fish finger wrap

I'm trying to lose weight and just feel healthier overall. However today I was lazy. I got some of those calorie reduced Tesco meals. It was mushroom risotto and it was actually pretty good!

However usually it's stuff like a some Thai noodle soup, omlette, pasta with hummus. Lots of veggies to bulk out things and help me feel fuller.

I don't really eat bread (not for any particular reason but I can never get through a full loaf without it going mouldy). However when I do have a sandwich I usually still feel hungry.

Basically eggs, lots of eggs!

PurpleDaisies · 22/02/2021 14:12

Another vote for soup. That’s a staple for me. I tend to make a batch every Monday and freeze some so it doesn’t have to be the same every day.

I also eat a lot of leftovers, and thing like daal, chilli, lentil bolognese type things frozen in single portions.

If I’ve got time, I really like baked aubergine with miso and soy, plus either a half potion of rice or noodle or a massive salad (!). If I’m super organised, I do love a jacket and beans but only with proper crisps skin which takes time in the oven. Normally I think of it at half twelve...

DinoDisco · 22/02/2021 14:15

In terms of weight loss while still eating 'normally', I would really recommend using My Fitness Pal. I try to stick to 1200 calories a day if I want to lose weight. I weigh some food to be very careful on portions but eat pretty normal things which I like.
I lost 10kg doing it last year. Gained so much knowledge of calories and what too little/too much/just right amounts of food per day are to lose/maintain/gain weight. I used to gain weight the minute I took my foot off the pedal but now I can naturally eat a maintenance level without thinking much about it.
If I exercise, I log the calories I burnt and know I can eat them so get extra a few days a week when I can have a glass of wine or more indulgent treats.

Today I will have:

25g Cereal and 20ml milk

Small sweet potato baked
Tuna and mayo

Yoghurt fruit flake packet

Salmon en croute
Courgette and leeks

Apple
Coke Zero

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 22/02/2021 14:17

Beans on toast and scrambled egg.
Healthy soup and toast
Houmous and salad wrap
Jacket potatoe and topping
