Cost of new kitchen

If you’ve had a new kitchen in last few years, how much did it cost?
I mean new units/floor/appliances.
I know it’ll vary enormously depending on what you have but just wanted a rough idea.

£7k

Pootle40 · 20/02/2021 23:31

£25k. Large island. Very expensive worktops. Multiple Siemens products.

ScoobyBlues · 20/02/2021 23:32

My fitter said that a kitchen costs roughly a thousand pounds a metre. With everything though. Oven, hob, flooring.

Approx 12 k including fitting. wooden worktop smeg range rewire. Replaster and real wooden flooring.

Emmab321 · 20/02/2021 23:51

10k including good brand of hob and intergrated appliances / tiled floor /replastered walls and ceiling / new spot lights and a new window :)

Libertyfree · 20/02/2021 23:52

Not as bad as I was thinking.
Debating between getting complete re-fit or replacing worktops etc. Kitchen units are in great quality/condition, about 13 years old. Just don’t know if it’s extravagant to have new kitchen when don’t desperately need one.

8k, small kitchen

sunflowertulip · 20/02/2021 23:58

Around £9k including fitting and quartz worktop for a decent sized kitchen. Got it from IKEA. Worktop was around £3k of that. Kept the oven and freezer we already had, so appliances were just under counter fridge and dishwasher.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 20/02/2021 23:59

Following. Ours is fine. Not particularly nice but also not ugly or failing. I'm hesitant to think about redoing it as I would want to move the services around and that will add unnecessary extra cost that we likely wouldnt recoup.

The 1k pr sqM tip above is interesting!

HurricaneBitch · 21/02/2021 00:00

£15k 3 years ago.

7 k including fitting for all Integrated appliances and flooring ( not including fridge)

winetime89 · 21/02/2021 00:02

That was 18 months ago

if you like the layout of the kitchen just get new doors, worktops and flooring- much cheaper

Ivanthehoe · 21/02/2021 00:16

I was told not to spend any more than 10% of the value of your house on a kitchen but it depends on what you are having done. If you are knocking walls through it will be more. If you do not intend moving then it does not really matter.

TipseyTorvey · 21/02/2021 06:36

Ours is six years old now. Mid level howdens kitchen was £5k, then white goods another £3k. That doesn't include the flooring which is oak but that cover the whole dining, snug, kitchen area so hard to estimate just the kitchen portion of it.

Weepingwillow22 · 21/02/2021 08:02

Flooring £5k (40m2)
Units £12k
Quartz worktops £4k
Appliances, sink and tap £10k
Fitting £4k

burritofan · 21/02/2021 08:20

£5k IKEA kitchen (units and integrated appliances), £1k Worktop Express worktops, £500 flooring, £500 tiles, £4k fitting – but that was a full gut and included some damp work and drainage outside, new back door, moving all plumbing and electrics, sorting the roof.

PRosie · 21/02/2021 08:29

10k mid range kitchen. Includes all new appliances- hob, double convector oven, extractor fan, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer.
Fitting 2k but that included total reconfigure, moving pipes and electrics, removing part of a wall and re plastering.
Cost of tiling floor is just ridiculous so we went for cheaper tiles and are paying labourer approx £160 by the day.

Iseeyoulookingatme · 21/02/2021 08:32

We are having ours done next month and it's costing £14k. The kitchen and worktop comes to £5k. We are having a wall knocked sown and. Moving the kitchen to the other side of the wall so we have to move the plumbing and electrics etc.

JackieWeaverFever · 21/02/2021 08:47

Mid level benchmarx was 6k with units and aeg appliances 6 years ago.

That was an exceptional bargain and bought at cost generally you would expect it to be 8-9k

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 21/02/2021 09:05

If you are happy with the cabinets and the layout then you can get replacement doors. If your original kitchen is a standard one rather than Ikea then the hinge placement should line up. You can buy doors individually both online and in some DIY shops.

We have revamped a kitchen at a previous house, so doors, worktops, sink, tap and a new oven as the original one was green.
