Do you want to help me find a garden gnome?

It is my birthday on Monday, and I will get some money and I would like a garden gnome.

Now don't be like that, each to their own, I'd just like one.

We have a fish pond and I'd like something old looking and natural colours, fishing into the pond. When I was a kid, my mum had a brown stone teddy with a red scarf who fished into their pond. It was nice.

I don't want cute. I don't want cartoon. I don't want bright colours.

I don't mind what it is (but actually not that keen on a teddy) quite like the idea of a frog etc. Old gnarled, ancient looking, and preferably with a fishing rod.

To give you an idea, Jeremy Fisher from Beatrix Potter would do it.

Price is max £30.

@mrurddhasabitpart are you ok?

lunar1 · 19/02/2021 23:45

The problem with having one garden gnome is that people then think they are your thing. They will buy them for you, you will have gnome fridge magnets and key rings. There will be a dozen in your garden and gnome items in every room of the house I've the next 10 years.

This happened to my stepdad, when we all moved in together he had a packing box named gnome stuff!

It's happening to me with chickens. I've had hens for a decade because I love them as pets and the eggs are amazing. I don't like ceramic hens but I own 5, plus plates, tea towels, pictures and god knows what else! 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

Probably too modern, and not a gnome, but a bit different (and he looks a bit grumpy!).

HotSauceCommittee · 20/02/2021 00:06

I was looking for an obscene garden gnome with a big erection for my sister, but they don't exist

Oh, no!

definitely don't want that!
Hmm, my mum kept ducks and ended up with dozens of duck ornaments etc.
She is the most non ornament person I know, why would anyone buy here a duck ornament Confused
