Good girls pants recommendations

Where do you get pants for little girls that are actually decent thick cotton, cover the relevant parts and they dont constantly cause wedgies?
Am I looking for the holy grail of knickers?

We've tried boden in the past which were good but I can't afford £26 for 7 pairs of pants any more and all the others seem to be thin flimsy cotton and bikini briefs so she is constantly rearranging them.

My dd has ones from next. They seem fine.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/02/2021 21:00

We've got a combination of M&s, next and Sainsbury's. All fine.

Weren't impressed with Tesco a few years back.

What style are you after?

The m&s seam free shorts are good. No wedges with shorts pants

Wedgies are entirely down to your shape. DD is fine with shorts but they are a total wedge fest for me! Angry

Best pants DD has ever had are bikini type from Lidl of all places! Bought some to try and they've been excellent, softer and thicker than most, so bought some more the next time they had them in.

hollyhockey · 13/02/2021 21:58

Ooh you want the multipack of striped briefs from Next. Full coverage. Soft cotton. No wedgies. Fussy dd says they’re really comfy. They come up big so recommend to size down.

My little granddaughters (3,5 and 6) wear regular boys pants from asda or sainsburys. Good fit and no itchy lace. Also very cheap.

RandomMess · 13/02/2021 22:05

H&M short style

I second these.
Lovetoridemybicycle · 13/02/2021 22:11

My Dd doesn't like the elastic frills around the legs and top, found some soft edge ones in newlook and now some from oddballs that look really good albeit a little pricey.

bellagogosdead · 13/02/2021 22:17

h&m are great.

Okki · 13/02/2021 22:21

My DD has a chunky bum. When she was younger, petit bateau were brilliant and now she wears M&S short style pants.

Quornflakegirl · 13/02/2021 22:27

Boden always have 20% off (sometimes 25%) off codes which make them slightly cheaper at £20. I buy Boden for my girls and have done since they came out of nappies, they find them super comfy and the quality is fantastic.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 13/02/2021 23:10

H and M definitely

Serafinaaa · 13/02/2021 23:26

My 4 year old girl wears boys pants. My 6 year old boy wears boxers so she doesn't see hers as 'boys'. They are thicker cotton and wider elastic.

FreeButtonBee · 14/02/2021 09:18

Arket do great ones.

00100001 · 14/02/2021 09:23

I never understand why girls get crappy little flimsy frilly knickers, and boys get decent, well elasticated waist ed pants.

TotorosFurryBehind · 14/02/2021 10:01

My toddler wears 'boys' pants. Wtf is it with overgenderising kids clothes, to the extent that toddler girls pants are thin fitted poly cotton with itchy elastic. The boys pants were the same price, 100 percent cotton, nice thick cotton and wide elastic in the waistband sewn in so that's it's not against the skin.

DappledThings · 14/02/2021 10:04

3 year old DD wears some from Tesco which are ok and some boy's ones too.

Thread title was a bit disturbing. Thought it was going to be something creepy about adults women being "good girls" and what they would wear. Relieved!

Kanaloa · 14/02/2021 10:13

My youngest always wears boys briefs, she hates the frilly bit round the top of girls pants and I can’t find any without it. Boys pants also tend to be thicker and more comfy and you can get plain ones that don’t look ‘boyish.’

StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff · 14/02/2021 10:52

Next are good. Plenty of choice for ones without fussy bows and lace.

StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff · 14/02/2021 10:54

But I agree re boys pants vs girls pants. Boys pants are much thicker material and seem so much more substantial

RhubarbTea · 14/02/2021 11:13

I've heard great things from friends about these - from a handmade seller on Etsy, DarkStarDesigns. I've tried their adults pants and they are fab, friends who have bought the kids versions have been v happy with them.

I don't understand WHY girls pants are so terrible when boys undies are available in quite high quality across the high street. I have a son but have heard about this issue from parents of girls who despair of finding anything decent for their daughters. It really grinds my gears!

vinoandbrie · 14/02/2021 11:17

Boden here, and I buy once a year in the 25% off sale!
