She's in her own fucking house; whose fault is it if there's no cake?

What 😂😂😂
And the award for missing the point goes to....

@NotJackieWeaver

Start an argument about transgender rights and “chestfeeding” That’ll end it for everyone, win-win
That is a bloody funny post! Grin

Love it! Grin That would be quite evil but amusing.

The more I read this the funnier it gets

To be fair I think multivac has a point, cake is obviously the main reason of going to a baby shower, but in these funny days when you know you are at home then what was host cake responsibility becomes a personal responsibility.

It's not going to help my 'non-thread-moodly earnestness' image if I point out that I was sent a slice of cake, and sweets, and a can of pink gin, well in advance of my niece's shower, by the organiser, is it CakeGinHalo?

I also put on a new frock, and high heeled boots, and lipstick. And a camera filter Grin...

I mean, surely 'the point' is, if there is ONE positive of this shit show of a year, it's that we totally don't have to see people we don't want to see*, or be where we don't want to be, any more - as evidenced by the multiple excellent escape tactics on this thread, none of which would work at an actual venue....

*Ok two positives if you include filters

Get drunk.

grassisjeweled · 13/02/2021 02:03

When you say “well in advance”, do you mean the cake was stale before the baby shower?

For the baby shower I have to attend, I’ve been given a list of things to send her for games and told what budget to adhere to for the present. I had to send a link to the present and the money to the host so she could do one big order. All with less than 24hrs notice. Hmm

Pinch yourself! It may hopefully just be a nightmare Grin

peak2021 · 13/02/2021 10:12

Only one hour and maybe a little bit more, so perhaps no harm done.

hansgrueber · 13/02/2021 16:31

You serious or just playing naive? Would you honestly just say "I don't want to do this, bye" to your friend who was having a baby shower / birthday celebration etc?

Not at all naive, playing or otherwise, just intelligent enough not to ever allowed myself to be dragged into tedious things like this, especially on line, they sound naff enough in realf life!! What thrill will the expectant madonna want next week, a 'gender reveal' zoom? Will she expect all of her many 'fiends' to observe the birth on zoom? Bring your own camels!

Butterbeeeen · 13/02/2021 16:44

Iv just been to a zoom baby shower today. We had cakes and sandwiches delivered by the gran to be prior to the call. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was a nice change to put some make up on and socialise
