Morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just having my usual silent cuppa, in the kitchen. I'm alternating between scrolling MN and watching the birds in the big sycamore at the end of the garden.

I'm giving myself until 10am to piss about on t'interweb then I'm off to get dressed.

Laundry needs doing & the downstairs floors need mopping. I'm going to bake dd1's birthday cake, so I can decorate it tomorrow, ready for Monday.

Dd2 wants to bake something too but I don't know what yet.

Dd1 will likely spend much of the day in her room, as usual on a weekend.

Later on, dd1's (reluctantly) helping to cook - she's 14 on Monday so I figured it was time she tried since dd2 is quite able in the kitchen.

I'd like to squeeze in either some crochet or read some of my book too. Probably crochet - I'm so close to finishing all the Among Us crewmates I've been making!

Had a wonderful nights sleep after not sleeping well all week. Baked some cinnamon rolls.
Made a mini snowman with youngest dd out of the snow on our patio table.

Just having a midday bath with snacks!

Think am going to meet dp at the beach with the dc's for some fresh air and then dominos for dinner with a film.

@InsufferableLKIA It was tongue in cheek, but I know what you mean about reading these threads. There is something nice about it. Maybe especially right now as life feels a little boring and monotonous.

My name is because I have lupus :) :) It took years and years and years to get a diagnosis, because 'it's never lupus.' :)

Hope it's not too icy for a mini bike ride - just walked the dog and v icy here. Mind, we are forecast snow tomorrow, and that never happens, so we shall see.

Went out for a cold and muddy walk with DD this morning, then home for lunch and just baked a banana cake. I don't think we'll be doing much this afternoon apart from icing said banana cake and stuffing our faces with it while watching an afternoon film.

Fed the birds and made more bird cake (Blue Peter), went for yet another walk (icy), have a beef casserole in the slow cooker, just need to add the dumplings at some point. All very same old same old

Spent the morning catching up with schoolwork I couldn't do with the DC during the week due to DH being at work and me being on placement.

Have sat and written some of my assignment this afternoon.

Now making risotto and unsure whether I should carry on with the assignment after dinner or start on the housework

I spent the morning cleaning all downstairs it was truly grotty and I'm finding it hard to get on top of during the week.
Dh took the youngest three sledging and eldest lay In til 1.
I've made a chicken, chorizo and bean stew for dinner and I'm about to tackle some ironing when I can be bothered to haul my arse off the sofa.

I got up and did breakfast etc, cleaned cat vomit off DD1's carpet and complained bitterly about the clean clothes I had washed and brought up for her to put away that she had then left on the floor for the cat to vomit on, dealt with the ensuing crying, dealt with DD2 shouting at me that she had nothing to wear because I said she couldn't wear a party dress to play in the snow... Made it out to the park for a bit, went back home to get the sledge, listened to many complaints as DH was meditating in the room where we keep the sledge and could not be disturbed, went back to the park, watched DD1 sledge down a hill and fall into the muddy puddle at the bottom, coaxed DD2 into trying sledging on the smallest slope imaginable that was barely longer than the sledge, helped them build a tiny snow dragon... Went home for lunch, rang my mum for a lengthy conversation, played with DD2, built a bit of lego, listened to her read her school reading book from a website. Now DDs are playing minecraft, DH is apparently going for a walk before dinner but he is supposed to be cooking the dinner, then bath DC and bedtime.

Mini bike ride was successful! We are also hoping for snow tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Breaking news... DH has measured up the windows and ordered new blinds for the bedrooms. Literally the most exciting thing that's happened for weeks!
