I cannot find an acceptable toothbrush holder for four people

That’s it. I need a toothbrush holder for four people that does not let the brushes bump together. That’s all.

All manual toothbrushes like proper old school.

Is this an impossible ask?

I do not want anything that collects spit at the bottom. Horrid.

We use toothbrush head covers www.superdrug.com/Toiletries/Travel-Accessories/Toothbrush-Holder/Superdrug-Toothbrush-Case-Pack-of-Two-Pink/p/420454
And the brushes live in a jar in the bathroom cabinet.

Those heads must just provide a moist biodome for bacterial surely?!

Washing out spit cup - noooooo

Or, you could just get over it. I presume you have at some point kissed the people you live with?

We have the Josephjoseph one, it's much neater/cleaner than anything else we've tried

@TwigTheWonderKid I like the wall mounted one although god only knows how I’d work out the tax from the US... but it’s got potential

I like the wall mounted one. Op, it's on amazon.com?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 and it's much cheaper in dollars!

We use children’s toothbrushes that have a sucker on the bottom so they can stand independently. You are supposed to use soft bristle toothbrushes anyway as they are less damaging to your gums.
They feel so much more hygienic!

@EssentiallyDelightedid seen that one but worried it might come off the wall easily?

Sucker toothbrushes are an excellent idea!

I have the Jospeh Jospehy one in blue instead of grey
It's a bastard for collecting dirty water and needs washing out daily. It has a slit that's supposed to help I assume? Don't. .

Yuck, you're not meant to keep toothbrushes out on display in bathrooms.. .have you not seen those documentaries where a flushed toilet expels droplets of faeces?

Elouera · 23/01/2021 00:11

Is there a reason you all still use manual toothbrushes?

Report
PickAChew · 23/01/2021 00:14

Yes, they work just fine. Ask any dentist who isn't getting a backhander.

I think electric work massively better but I’m sure OP can choose her own toothbrush. Stick a magnet on the end of the handle and a metal strip on the wall? Or drill a hole in the handle and use a key ring to hang them from a nail?

Oh and for the squeamish the middle bit comes out and we just stick it all in the dishwasher.
