Day 23. Morning everyone, and I hope last night wasn't too hard, and this weekend will go smoothly for you all. I had a wild night of reading and hot chocolate, and have big plans of walks and housework for the weekend.
DH has been / is doing DJ with me. I asked him last night what he wants to do after this month. It doesn't seem like he's struggled not drinking. He's maybe had more headaches than usual, but he gets cluster migraines anyway. He thinks he also used to drink too much last year, but we often drank the same amounts, and he's a foot taller than me and a lot heavier, too, so it'd make sense if it hasn't formed into the same kind of issue for him than for me. Anyway, he's not sure, but thinks he'd like to go back to having at least the occasional drink. I hope at least to begin with he'll stick to drinks I won't be too tempted to share, like beer.
I went through my Fitbit data, and it seems I'm not making it up that I don't feel better. My resting HB is up by quite a lot this month. My cardio fitness score has gone from very good to good. Sleep patterns haven't improved (not getting more REM periods, for example) and total sleep amount is unchanged, although wakings during the night are shorter. It's a bit disheartening, especially since the book I'm reading keeps making confident claims along the lines of "it only takes five nights after your last drink for your natural sleep pattern to return". Thankfully googling has been more reassuring, and apparently things can take months to get back into normal, if you've started forming a dependency. Sigh.
