Morning all, congratulations @pointythings, wonderful news!

Still dry here, day 41 and think maybe I'm finally feeling the benefits. Sleeping well, more energy, managing to stick to 15k steps a day. That's helped by it being the most beautiful, frosty weather here so I look forward to getting out after a day of wfh and home schooling.
Equally feeling better about the asshole ex, he's not on my mind so much, managed not to send any messages which definitely is due to not drinking. Had wine been involved I know I would have humiliated myself somewhere along the line (more than once).

Vitamin uptake ridiculous, started iron 'shots' the other day. Suffering baby Jesus they are foul.

Anyway hope everyone is good and coping.

Afternoon.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing.
I don't have much to say, tbh. There is so little going on!
The boredom is really setting in. But obviously, as a mum, I've got a shit ton I could be doing, I just don't have the motivation to actually do any of it.
Not drinking has definitely given way to treating myself to any food that I fancy. At the start I was being more conscious of my choices but that has fallen by the wayside now, and I don't mind. Now's not the time to be cutting the good stuff out of life. No alcohol is quite enough to be dealing with.

If you're struggling today, you have my thoughts. ThanksCake

Am thinking I may do lent?

After 35 days, I cracked and although I've been managing alright with moderating, I found being completely dry easier? No second guessing / making deals with myself.

Have 2 glasses left in a bottle this evening then I'm done.

Tomcullenisahero · 14/02/2021 20:57

Well done those of you who have stayed dry and congratulations Pointy on your new job. It's lovely to hear good news.
I had my first glass of wine last night since new year's eve, 43 dry days.
DH and I both fancied a glass, the fire was out and a movie chosen so wine just seemed right lol. I had set myself the goal of 50 days but 6 weeks aren't too bad. It was lovely making a conscious decision to have some wine instead of mindlessly pouring wine at 8pm just because that's wine o'clock. I don't want to go back to mindless drinking again or drinking out of habit.

Hey, I think I’m back to dry for lent. I’ve been drinking less than I normally would but I think not drinking is easier. Onwards...

lunklitdays · 18/02/2021 09:15

Hope everyone is doing okay.

I had a drink last Saturday, opened a bottle of red wine intending to have 2 glasses, of course I drank the bottle. I did really enjoy it and surprisingly didn't feel too bad the next day however I did absolutely nothing all day. I ate constantly and was nippy with the kids. I was nowhere as near alter for work on Monday and tbh it's taken until today until I felt like I did before I drank. So all in all although I enjoyed it I'm not going to do it again for a while. I have no plan of how long I'm going to stay dry this time, just going to do one day at a time and go from there.

Be nice to hear how everyone else is doing.

I had some drinks the last weekend of January, some on Valentines Day and will have some this coming Saturday. By some, I mean about half a bottle of wine. Thinking of doing dry March though, it might be easier with the lighter evenings.

Don't click on that link, the previous poster has posted that link on every active thread that I've looked on. Probably phishing

Hello hello, anyone still doing this? Can I join in?

Hi all,
Just a little update from me I was one of the June BFPs after dtd only once that month and using the fertility cup. My twin girls were born on the 22nd feb by c section weighing 6lb 1 and 4lb 3 I'm so in love with them. Sending baby dust to you all, I'm proof it only takes the once plus in a geriatric mum (44 next month!) lol, I also have a 17th month only dd so have my hands full at the minute🥰
