Listening to tv clip on phone in a cafe

Just had a discussion with a relative. Is it rude to listen to a tv clip (about 5 minutes long) in a cafe out loud? Loud enough for other diners to hear. What do you think?

Pffft. Can't get worked up about it at all in a general cafe with background noise etc. As long as its not deafening it's just another conversation.

Yes, super rude. Cannot stand listening to other people's crap. I especially hate listening to an episode of Peppa Pig, full blast, while I'm trying to eat. Complete with kid squealing at it. Parents did nothing.

OP said it was loud enough for all other diners to hear as the place was small & mostly empty. Not just another conversation or background noise.

Rude

Yes, rude, you could have it on quietly.

I was once annoyed with a man, having a huge, long loud conversation about wagons, and his business with someone on his phone in Pizza Hut, right next to where we were sitting.

It might have been nothing to him, but it was a rare meal out for me and the family.

Yes. Definitely rude. No excuses.
