I have a family member interested in becoming a foster carer in the same area as you, would you mind if I private message you?

I forgot to mention Christmas mugs, aprons and tea towels, I was on ebay earlier looking at Christmas kitchen linens, I'm such a sucker for that stuff.

Coconut porridge. I have boxes of it stacked up,to the ceiling in the utility room. Quaker stopped making it and I bought every box I could find.

Twinings chai tea....same reason.

Duvets. For some reason DH and I seem to have bought 1 per year since we got married. It started when we got M&S vouchers for a wedding present, and decided to buy a nice new duvet (previous ones had been ones our parents had in the airing cupboard etc). The assistant talked us into buying 13 tog. We lasted about a week before becoming dangerously dehydrated, so had to go back and buy a lighter one.

Then one got thrown out, for no reason we ever figured out. Then we needed one for DS. Then we decided to have one each (summer and winter versions). And so on.

So we went from owning 1 duvet to owning about 10.

Hundreds of black socks. I love the feel of brand new ones!

CatVsChristmasTree · 05/01/2021 22:42

Just RTFT and found I'm not alone with the coats. I feel vindicated and shall tell DH that he and DS can stop locking my coat collection. We had to put extra coat hooks up because I need a whole row. I haven't even opened the last one I bought (everything5pounds.com) and I have been thinking about how I need a few more as I still never have the right one for every situation.

sunnysidegold · 05/01/2021 22:42

Pens. Love stationery.

Plastic boxes. I think that buy buying the perfect set of containers my house will become so perfectly neat and ordered. Still waiting for that to happen.

Hair bobbles. They're mating I think.

yamadori · 05/01/2021 22:43

Dozens of odd socks.

Christmas decorations (they seem to have multiplied yet again this year).

Bonsai trees and potted trees-in-training - well over 200 of the things. My garden is like a Lilliput forest. They don't half take some watering come summer.

Bonsai books - about 30 of those. I don't know why, the trees can't read.

Thomas Sabo charms. More than actually fit on the bracelet.

Actually, we have a lot of duvets too. Similar reasons. And pillows, as I was on a quest for the perfect pillow and I kept passing them down to the DCs so they have about 3 each now and I have at least 7 in my bedroom. I did throw one out last week though. But since I got a bigger washing machine and tumble drier, I have managed to wash the manky ones that were destined for the tip and now can't throw them out.
