Can we share annoying neighbours during lockdown stories?

Like many people I am stuck at home, trying to work, with teen dd in another room, also doing a full day of school work followed by homework. It’s very quiet, except for my neighbour playing music all afternoon at full volume. (She is fully aware that this is anti social as other people have spoken to her about this in the past. And yes, I have posted about this before...)

Fortunately I am only living here for another few months but in the meantime I would be comforted by other stories of annoying and selfish neighbour behaviour !

The air bnb house across the road. It's irritating enough in normal times, but now they only rent to contractors it's a nightmare. 6am starts as several vans leave etc. It's a whole house rental so 4 bedrooms worth of workers with a van each causing parking issues in the street. Their vans run over the verges etc.
Pain in the arse.

We have new neighbours that moved in around July last year. Lovely to talk to, very polite children, you never see nor hear them during the day. Never see the kids leave for school or the parents leave for work. Comes to 8:30/9pm almost every night and not only are they practicing the piano/drums/trumpet but the banging and stomping around is like nothing I’ve ever heard before. It sounds as if they are literally throwing themselves down the stairs. The kids then stay up till around 12/1am banging and screaming. The dog is also not seen or heard till around 10pm at night when it’s allowed out to bark for about an hour then put back in. Worse of all is the two grandfather clocks on our adjoining wall. Angry

Not so much annoying as curious.

My next door neighbour does food shopping every day. He goes out about 11.30 and comes back an hour later and unloads a half dozen bags.

This is a couple i their 60s - what are they eating?

Although they can be a bit, er, not quite sure what. They got a community grant to start an online radio station, which they ran from their bedroom that my bedroom shares a wall with.

It wasn't that loud and I got used to it, but then I saw an advert for the station, where they stated that they played music, 'as it should be - live', I had visions of bands arriving and using their bed as a stage.

Solidarity to everyone else living through renovation lockdowns. 💕 It drove me to tears on more than one occasion, especially around April/May when the weather was so good and the workmen were working from 7am every day, including Sunday. I think our “best” run was 37 days solid of noisy work.

People told us “oh but they can’t work on X day or past Y time” but we’ve seen it all these past 10 months! Knocking walls out at 7am on Sunday morning, hammering and drilling at 11pm, workmen throwing their cigarettes over the fence into our garden, music blasting for 12 hours a day.

One neighbour didn’t to want to live through their own renovation so they moved out (lucky them) and put a portable toilet directly under our bedroom window... in the height of summer. 38° and we couldn’t open the window because it stunk of wee! It was disgusting and completely ruined our good relationship with them, luckily we were in the midst of moving at that point and never saw them again.

Not just lockdown - neighbours slam sash windows and shutters closed at midnight, wakes our baby every night without fail.
