What can I do with 300ml of double cream that's NOT truffles?

As much as I love truffles, I don't have any suitable chocolate and I'm not going to the shop just for chocolate with the kids in tow. What can I do with it?

Cajun chicken, which is basically chicken and peppers cooked then add cream and cajun spice. Goes nice with chios, rice, pasta, wraps, everything really. Could use other spices too I suppose. I just haven't tried any.

Salmon pasta. Cook salmon either fry in butter or bake in the oven. Put it in a pan, pull it apart into bits, add lots of butter, add the cream and salt and cracked black pepper. I like to add garden peas to mine and mix into pasta.

Use it for coffee

Make scones and whip it up for them. Although it's not as good as clotted cream.

cheese cake or butter.

Cream scones! This is the easiest recipe although I don't roll it out like Mary Berry says to but pat it in to an even thickness before cutting it. It's honestly a fail safe recipe.

Do you have any panettone type cake? I am as likely to cheat and use bught custard, but last year I used the last f the double cream and all sorts of half dry cake bits for this! Use anything instead of chocolate to yuck in

Make a batch of luxury cheese sauce and freeze in portions for future gratins and pie fillings

SomeLikeItTepid · 05/01/2021 11:29

Freeze it in an ice cube tray and pop a cube into curries, soups, pasta sauces etc when needed.

Ohalrightthen · 05/01/2021 11:30

Seeing as you've got kids, whip with a tiny bit of icing augar and eat it with a tablespoon straight from the bowl while hiding in the bathroom.

Nicklebox · 05/01/2021 11:30

How about a very rich bread and butter pudding, I use croissants and apricot jam and chocolate buttons in mine. All the ideas sound amazing though. Pity its lockdown have ordered a click and collect which sadly does not include cream. But may have to order some next time.Grin

These are all amazing ideas but it looks like I'll be able to do choc truffles after all! Going to do the big food shop now DH is out of bed and can watch the kids.

Irish coffee. You can't go wrong with as much alcohol laced coffee as possible these days...
