Where on earth do you buy them pyjamas?

Ds is okay with stripes or plain colours, also tartan style pj bottoms. Have I missed pyjama season or something? I can’t find them anywhere in age 13. White company (not my usual shop but I’m scraping the barrel of all the shops I know) has some suitable but only up to age 12. Do boys stop wearing pyjamas when they enter their teens? I have looked on John Lewis, m and s, Boden, joules, h and m, Tu, and I can’t think of anywhere else. Help!

DS has just worn jogger type shorts and a t-shirt (latter only rarely) since he was about 12!

I buy men's Primark ones for my giant (6ft) 12 year old. They have a massive range and include lots of kiddie - like characters so he can still be a bit silly (starwars onesies, playstation stuff etc...)

Hazelnutlatteplease · 02/01/2021 21:59

Primark mens. Although generally I get a two pack of fleece trousers and some cheap matching cotton tshirts

It does get a bit easier once they move into adult sizes.

Dawnlassie · 02/01/2021 22:01

Cheap joggers and a T shirt? Not sure why the clothes they wear to bed have to be labelled as 'pyjamas'.

Bvop · 02/01/2021 22:03

@PickAChew yes, those are exactly to ds’s taste. I’m working out whether to wait 5 weeks or get some m and s pj trousers and soft t shirts 😀

ASOS is a good choice. They do XXS which are perfect for teenage boys.

I get my ds from jack Will’s, next, Asda. All men’s small.

Ellapaella · 02/01/2021 22:06

M&S, John Lewis, Boden... just by a size small.
Boden do them up to age 16.

bellagogosdead · 02/01/2021 22:06

I found matalan quite good at that age, but my info is a bit out of date (ds is 21)

Rollergirl11 · 02/01/2021 22:11

These have a slightly shorter lead time at 3-4 weeks...

DS1 who is 17 and DS2, 15 wear joggers and a t-shirt to bed and refuse pyjamas. I am very nostalgic for their Boden pjs but they just look at me as if I am crazy. Perhaps it's in case there is a fire?

itsgettingweird · 02/01/2021 22:14

My son wears next and Tesco soft touch ones.

At 13 men's XS should fit if he hasn't had his teenage growth spurt yet!

SeaToSki · 02/01/2021 22:15

Mine switched to just sleeping in underwear at 13 ish

GreenPlum · 02/01/2021 22:19

John Lewis adult medium

Bearnecessity · 02/01/2021 22:19

Mine gave up on pjs a long time ago, boxers only here.

Spottysausagedogs · 02/01/2021 22:23

Mens XS. There is a definite gap in the market though I sympathise, from about age 13 upwards. Teamed with this year I think covid related issues have meant shelves are a bit understocked. I've had problems getting my usual pyjamas for the kids Xmas presents, and I started relatively early!

stovetopespresso · 02/01/2021 22:26

agree H&M also amazon, they sell all sorts of sizes with reviews telling you about the fit. have got joules mens size s bottoms before from there for my 14 yo ds, reduced, they're great quality.

Boatonthehorizon · 02/01/2021 22:28

I was shocked when my son turned 11, now 13, and suddenly I was forced to only buy his clothing online. (at Next). He can't wear menswear, it would hang off him and he'd look like he's wearing his dad's shirts, jumpers, and imagine the trousers - a foot too long! Its ridiculous but no-one ever mentions it. I think there is sports direct (which I think, is why most teen boys wear sportswear) but that's not really his style. In a society used to clothes shopping, it's madness. There was so much choice up to age 10 and now just apathy from the shops. I've asked the shops and they don't really care, teenage boys are not in their radar but I think theyve missed a market.

MotherOfUnicorns4 · 02/01/2021 22:28

M&S and debenhams.

Bunnybigears · 02/01/2021 22:29

Mine wears boxers or random football shorts he has.

Ltdannygreen · 02/01/2021 22:32

I don’t bother buying DS 12 clothes now, he literally lives in his pjs and boxers. He don’t care what pjs they are as long as he wears clean ones every night. At this point he has more pjs than trousers.

ancientgran · 02/01/2021 22:33

I used to buy my son men's pyjamas from Sainsburys. Having said that he was 6ft tall at 12 and would have been a bit big for the children's section.

Very annoying as I really resent having to pay VAT on my 13 year olds clothes I agree, I was paying VAT on my son's shoes when he was 10 and his feet were so broad they had to be made for him so were definitely for a child but they had to charge me VAT. I think they were embarrassed and gave me a discount which was very kind and much appreciated. I was paying near £200 for a pair of shoes and that was years ago.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 02/01/2021 22:36

I think it's because of the wide variation in size of kids that age. Some kids haven't started growing upwards but have puppy fat instead and others are gangly skyscrapers. There is no "standard size".

Small men's stuff were usually fine for DS1 (beanpole).

SingleHandSue · 02/01/2021 22:38

Neither of my teen DSs wore pyjamas beyond aged about 12.

My eldest wears old sports shorts and the youngest just wears boxers.
