I'm in the mood for a film. Probably not a rom-com unless its properly amazing. Definitely not a TV programme. What's the best thing you've seen on Netflix recently?

Spree is pretty funny.

Wellthisismorethanabitgrim · 02/01/2021 22:44

We just watched Captain Fantastic, it was absolutely brilliant, funny, touching and thought provoking.

Misty9 · 02/01/2021 22:46

Oh yes, black klansmen was really good too

Fandaddydoozie · 02/01/2021 22:49

There's a lot of great films of BBC iPlayer right now.

JamMakingWannaBe · 02/01/2021 22:54

Haven't RTHT but Over the Moon we enjoyed recently on Netflix and I'd like to watch it again.
The premise is maybe a kid's film but it's not Disney. Look out for the "XFactor" sequence - my favourite!

Tenet is fast paced and entertaining

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 02/01/2021 23:07

I've just watched Dredd, Karl Urban is surprisingly good as Dredd. There is a LOT of gore but the plot is reasonably good.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 02/01/2021 23:18

We watched “jungle” this evening. We really enjoyed it, based on a true story!

BriocheBuns · 03/01/2021 00:55

The escape room

Twintub · 03/01/2021 00:59

Wild rose was great ! Is the Guernsey pie film Netflix or prime ? That’s an excellent film and book :-)

ImNotShpanishImEgyptshun · 03/01/2021 01:01

The Big Short is one I can always watch repeatedly.

Inarightpickleandpreserve · 03/01/2021 01:05

Has anyone seen the suicide squad Harley Quinn movie? DD is desperate for me to let her watch it and it’s a 15, she’s 14, seen all the marvel DC things... is it good? Any feedback welcome!

Knucklehead101 · 03/01/2021 01:12

Midnight Sky is excellent x

Twintub · 03/01/2021 01:13

@Knucklehead101 I watched that this evening I thought it was boring ah well I think it would probably have been very visually appealing full screen :-)

Death in 2020

About time

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 03/01/2021 01:26

Peanut Butter Falcon is a new one I really enjoyed.

RunningFromInsanity · 03/01/2021 01:40

6 underground
The Old Guard
Code 8
Project Power

All similar sort of films but enjoyable.

Nat6999 · 03/01/2021 03:41

Not a comedy but The Guernsey literary potato peel pie society was on BBC last week & should be on Iplayer, was a lovely film.

fuzzymoon · 03/01/2021 05:47

Death to 2020 is brilliant

user1494050295 · 03/01/2021 05:54

Puzzle was excellent abd pride and prejudice 2005 is on too

OhWhyNot · 03/01/2021 06:01

Knives Out

Its an over the top who done it plot and very amusing at times. It’s very entertaining

Hels20 · 03/01/2021 06:31

I second Wild Rose, Peanut Butter Falcon.

Instant Family is on Prime and is coming to Netflix next week - comedy about adoption. As someone who has adopted it really rang true...made me laugh and cry.

Hels20 · 03/01/2021 06:32

Knives Out is also excellent. Liked Black Klannsmann - not really a comedy though

tothesea · 03/01/2021 10:40

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Not an easy watch, devastating in fact but really powerful acting and Chadwick Boseman’s last film. He is incredible in it.

Milomonster · 03/01/2021 10:47

Anything by Hirokazu Koreeada. Shoplifters is currently on 4OD films. Loved it.
