Keeping kids up for New Year

Will you be keeping yours up to see on the New Year? What age?

DS is 5 and will go to bed at usual time, is that mean? It's just us three and a couple of babies, it would be a nightmare keeping him entertained for an extra 5 hours getting increasingly tired and hyper

No way, my two are up at 6 no matter what so would be horrible tomorrow if they stay up. There’s nothing to stay up for anyway 🤷‍♀️

Mine are trying to stay up. The 13 and 12 year olds will make it, the 8 year old is nodding off on the sofa as I type.

Ours did a children’s New Year with party supper and games then went to bed at about 9pm before the adults partied.
They joined us when they were old enough to add to the evening rather than need looking after. If they could sit through a quiz, party games, a formal meal and dancing without being irritating or wanting attention they could remain. Usually about 13/14 years.

Well despite being in the middle of a dozen firework displays that echo around our estate (lots of small roads curling in around each other) my 3 slept through it. Big one wanted to stay up because it wasn't birthday but was asleep by 8. Babies had a late nap so went up about 8.30 then Dadadadaaad down the monitor til they got extra milk. Someone on the next estate has a display that aligned perfectly with my back door so we had a good set of fireworks
