Tier 4. Bugger all. Really can't be arsed and will probably be in bed before 12.

anothermansmother · 30/12/2020 23:32

A nice dinner with lots of pudding options. Watch a film in our pjs and then watch the countdown to 2021.

PoptartPoptart · 30/12/2020 23:38

Takeaway and board games and chocolate. Wine for me.

Nibbles games and movies

TLKlover · 30/12/2020 23:40

Taking the decorations down tomorrow day, watching films, bought some party food to have for tea and will probably watch countdown and go to bed.

New Years Day....let them rest and enjoy doing nothing.

Normandy144 · 30/12/2020 23:40

Tier 4 here so going to drive to a national trust for another walk. Then home for seafood supper and probably another bloody zoom call!

Bugger all.

gingajewel · 30/12/2020 23:41

I’ve told the kids who are ten and four that we can have a sleepover downstairs! Don’t actually know what prompted me to say this and now I’m slightly dreading it!

Woodlandbelle · 30/12/2020 23:42

Fairly tight restrictions here but I managed to buy sparklers and novelty glasses. So we are going to have hot chocolate outside tomorrow evening and come in and play a bit of music etc. Maybe play uno or something like that. New Year's Day I will cook a roast and it's likely we will go for a walk.

EsmeeMerlin · 30/12/2020 23:46

I don’t really know, dh is at work all day and it’s just me and our two sons aged 7 and 2. Have been finding it all a little tough and both boys have been fighting and arguing over toys. I have promised ds1 Pizza Hut and we have a zoom quiz planned in the evening although I am not really feeling it.

TheChosenTwo · 30/12/2020 23:47

Were planning on going to the beach for a long walk but tier 4 means that’s not a wise idea. So another walk in our local area, home for some games and a buffet, music and a little kitchen disco I reckon. Might pop out the front at midnight and say hello to the neighbours. Don’t know really, just feels like a real non event for us this year, we are always away on holiday with 30 people for New Years usually, my dc have never spent it at home. A bit grumpy about it secretly but nothing we can do and I’ll remain cheerful and upbeat for them tomorrow.

Party food feast and booze / mocktails for DC (12+9)
Probably some card games and hopefully a electronic gaming ban for the evening
Maybe a movie

BenoneBeauty · 30/12/2020 23:51

Dominoes Pizza and board games and a movie!

Flowersblue · 31/12/2020 02:11

Thanks for the ideas

Teens here. We're doing cocktails and mocktails, a candlelit dinner, a Christmas quiz, board games then a firepit and low noise fireworks, champagne and sparklers at midnight.

badlydrawnbear · 31/12/2020 08:30

Nothing in particular. We don't really celebrate New Year anyway and I am working all night tonight and tomorrow night. Today I will try and engage them in doing something, anything which isn't staring at screens, maybe playing with some of their new toys, maybe I will put some of their Christmas presents away if I can work out where they live. Tomorrow they will play minecraft and watch tv in their pyjamas all day while I sleep between night shifts.

merryhollybright · 31/12/2020 08:33

Three under five here so not much. Walk today and I've told the older two they can have all their favourite things for tea- so we're apparently having noodles and ice cream. Film and a hot choc probably before bed.
Tonight DH and I are having an evening of wine, nibbles and playing some new games on my Switch.
Probably another walk tomorrow just to tire everyone out.

Queenie24 · 31/12/2020 08:38

I've got 2 teens and we planned on making pizzas together and then board games. Normally we are out up a mountain at midnight so very different this year.

Flowersblue · 31/12/2020 18:18

Sounds great

My little ones are 5, 3 and a baby. I'm ill, live in the SE and I cremated my father 2 days ago so not feeling in the best of spirits. But they had McDonald's breakfast this morning, and this evening have had a pajama tea party in the dark lit only by the sparkly Christmas tree, with an absolute load of treats and lots of teddy/doll/pony guests which DD said was the best thing ever!

They're now playing games with us and my 3 year old is posted at the window firework spotting. There have been a fair few even at this time so that's nice :)

They would have absolutely no idea it was a celebration but I can't stand the thought of them missing out. It's been nice making the day nice for them at least.

HelplessProcrastinator · 31/12/2020 18:29

I didn't get home from work until 5.30 (in the olden days we used to be allowed to push off a bit early but there you go). Pizza and other beige nibbley things, new Pixar film on Disney plus, a board game or two, me and DH to collapse with drinks while DC aged 10 and 13 amuse themselves until just past midnight. We usually hang out with a few friends and similar age DC so this will be a weird one.

Flowersblue · 31/12/2020 19:06

Sounds lovely helpless

Pearl- sorry about your father

OP posts:
LizDiz · 31/12/2020 19:50

Nothing. Mine are teens and all they want to do is talk to their friends so I am sat in the front room, DH is lying down as he feels I'll and the DCs are in their rooms. Same as every other night sadly.
