Bloody Simpson’s again, but at least turkey joint and pork in the oven were just picking at sandwiches tonight, so roast beef tomorrow and the rest cut for sandwiches.

  1. I feel good!
newstart1234 · 24/12/2020 17:57

2 . Only us at home tomorrow. Opening and playing with gifts will take most the day and DH will cook lunch at some point with anything left for dinner with cheese and bread probably. It’s like a holiday at home not Xmas so not all but not the same as normal.

Soontobe60 · 24/12/2020 18:00
  1. Sat waiting for food at our drive through chippy, large g&t waiting at home
Soosiesoo · 24/12/2020 18:14

Now I'm half a bottle of Prosecco down, I'd say a 2. Earlier, about an 8. alcohol is the only difference Grin

Mominatrix · 24/12/2020 18:18
  1. Christmas lunch prepped and ready to go, as is supper on Christmas and lunch on Boxing Day. House in good nick and Champagne chilled and down by half a bottle.
I8toys · 24/12/2020 18:23

0 - saw my mum and dad at the local pub for a meal with them for mum's birthday. Lovely time together and now settling down now to watch netflix. Just rang the bells outside and some of our street were out too. Watching George Clooney's new film with some peach schnapps and pringles. Happy times.

InTheseUncertainTimes · 24/12/2020 18:24

8? Mostly on the stressed scale, not so much the grumpy. I'm running high on base level stress anyway; nothing new or Christmas related. My GP surgery cocked up my prescription, and I didn't even realise until today, when it's been too late to really sort it out before the long weekend.

And my street were doing some more doorstep activity today, and I feel vaguely guilty to having turned off the lights, pulled on the curtains and pretended not to be home. Honestly, can you all just stop wanting me to go out and do weird shit on the doorstep?!

Skyliner001 · 24/12/2020 18:26

0 Xmas Grin

QuantumJump · 24/12/2020 18:27

1 here. Lying on sofa watching telly with DC. May have a mince pie in a minute.

RednaxelasBaubles · 24/12/2020 18:32

I wish I could have a nanny to entertain DC. Just want an hour to myself which isn't at night when I'm too exhausted to remember my own name..

elfycat · 24/12/2020 18:36
  1. My own fault as I've not wrapped the kid's gifts or cleared off the shit dining room table, but it's mainly my sewing machine and mask-making materials shoved to one end.

We still need to decorate the tree. DH loves doing it and only got home last night from working away. It's usually a Xmas eve thing and we have a tree in a pot that only comes in for 3-4 days, but DH has just gone to drop his family's gifts off a half hour drive away so that's going to make it later than usual.

But most of the veg is peeled and sitting in water. I'm trying to work out what I want to drink. I have some botanical rum that tastes like Christmas pudding. But I really fancy a glass of sherry...

BeTheHokeyMan · 24/12/2020 18:38

I was at 10 earlier as I had about 100 things to do but dh bought the kids to the in-laws for two hours and I watched the snowman with a few tunnocks teacakes so now I'm calmer Wink

Crunchymum · 24/12/2020 19:09

Past few hours definitely a 7.

Now all chores are done, house is sparkling, kids all bathed and in PJ's and watching a film. Wine is open and takeaway is on route.

Crunchymum · 24/12/2020 19:10

So I'm a 1 now Grin

Rockbird · 24/12/2020 19:11

About a thousand. DH won't put his (very normal, not at even Christmassy) new pyjamas on to watch the film. He's just being awkward and he's pissed me off because I've done everything today. It's not much to ask.

CatVsChristmasTree · 24/12/2020 19:14

8
I have PMT
My favourite patient (I know, I shouldn't have favourites) died this morning.
DH hadn't done the meat related things he was meant to have done by the time I got home so I don't have the kitchen to myself this evening for veg prep.
I got 5 hours sleep because it was windy and cats were bothering me and my PMT was making me anxious.
I worked all day and DH had a short appointment and has made dinner, that's it. But apparently has been too busy to wash up or cook the lamb.

So yeah, 8. I'm sulking.

OublietteBravo · 24/12/2020 19:18

I’ve slung all the clutter from the front room on the kids’ landing and vacuumed. Having Prosecco. Probably back down to a 5 at the moment.

CatVsChristmasTree · 24/12/2020 19:19

Raising it to a 9, just went in the kitchen and trod in a puddle (14 year old DS apparently can't get a drink of water without getting the floor wet) and now have a wet sock.
DH didn't tell me we needed onions. Now wants onions.

Itsokthanks · 24/12/2020 19:20
  1. I'm sat with a g&t and looking forward to seeing my parents for a walk tomorrow.
MrsDeadlock · 24/12/2020 19:34

A solid 8, all anxiety. Everything done, kids happy, house is fine. BUT I can't shake the worry about having my family over tomorrow (tier 2, everyone fit and well). I couldn't get a rapid test earlier as the queues were crazy. I have really bad health anxiety, and even though I've had covid before I'm still worried I'll give it to someone and they will get Ill.

Writing that out helps

Pandoraslastchance · 24/12/2020 19:42

Double kitchen cupboard just fell off the wall. Thankfully didn't damage the washing machine, freezer or cooker.

But all the baking powder, flour, salt and sugar went everywhere.

Oh and earlier on today my twat of a brother left a pan on the gas hob and went to town leaving our invalid grandfather sitting in the house. He came back to the bloody fire brigade.

Oh and I've bought most of my own presents as OH couldn't be bothered, whilst I got him a fucking guitar.

I've had enough this year. Christmas and the whole year can just about fucking do one.

Livpool · 24/12/2020 20:04

0 - had a lovely day - watched the Christmas Chronicles with DS and DH and DS just bathed.

Now relaxing with a drink

Bearnecessity · 24/12/2020 20:16

1 mulled wine in hand, despite just going to prepare my veg for tomorrow and finding out my bag of sprouts is entirely rotten! We love sprouts too....I will make up for it NYD.

CatVsChristmasTree · 24/12/2020 20:33

Down to a 3 now.
DCs had actually tidied their rooms, to an even better standard than expected. Despite creating me a 4ft high laundry mountain, I'm not sad about that (even though I'm certain some of it is actually clean stuff that's been lost to the floor for weeks) because it means I get to use my new 10kg dryer.
DH did a mercy run to the garage for more fizz as I thought we had 3 bottles but only 2 and I need my Bucks Fizz tomorrow.
Have washed up, put the red cabbage in the slow cooker, put the gammon on to boil and DH has done the lamb.
Gave DCs their Christmas eve pyjamas and all fit and are happy with them (DS2's a bit big but OK).
I'm now sitting down with wine and a cat. Starting to feel Christmassy...

Still have PMT though.
