  1. I'm full of cold so have decided the house doesn't need to be cleaned for Santa. He'll come either way. Plus it's snowing!
LazyName · 24/12/2020 14:32

8ish Xmas Sad I love Christmas and really want to shift this foul mood!!!

TheLuckiest · 24/12/2020 14:33

Hugs @BookShark ThanksMe too. Rubbish isn't it?? COVID is a bitch. I thought I hadn't lost my taste but lunch tasted weird today.

Grumpy - a solid 10 after I also realised we have no cheese and none of us can pop 5 mins to the shop to get some as we're all self isolating Xmas Sad

Stress- about a 0. Namely because I was really organised this year, thank god.

And frankly, I'm too ill and tired to care anymore. SadSadSad

9.5 grumpometer. I don’t like Christmas most years but a festive miscarriage has put paid to any good cheer I might have scraped up. Christmas can do one. 2020 can do one. What is the point of any of it. Just years of me stuck with annoyingly introverted DP, plus my crazy mother until we die. God.

madcatladyforever · 24/12/2020 14:38

1, I've got 4 days off work and a fridge full of nice food and snacks. Just me and the cat so totally stress free and I posted all my gifts out last month.
Mind you I might add half a point as I'm pretty sure I missed someone out on my christmas card list but i don't know who.

Coffeeandcookies · 24/12/2020 14:41

Right now - 0

Up until 30 mins ago when DH took the kids out for ice cream so that I can "get on with all the Christmas prep" - 8

Last 30 mins as I sit here on MN whilst eating Christmas cake and after eights and drinking shloer - 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0.... Ah, that's better!

Crazycatlady83 · 24/12/2020 14:42

10 - our oven has just broken! Called 30+ people to try and get someone to fix it. Luckily someone answered and has come over (within the hour!) Praying he can fix it! That has really topped off a crappy 2020 for us!

Melonlover80 · 24/12/2020 14:46

Big fat zero

Single parent
Two primary children
Back from lovely walk
Now.... film and a cup of tea

Fortheweekend · 24/12/2020 14:48

From March until yesterday I’ve been a steady 10 +++ but I’ve decided fuck it, I’m going to sit on the sofa and eat crap so I’ve just scoffed a jam donut and half a rum truffle and am sitting with dh and our dog to watch Its a Wonderful Life so currently feel like a 3.

stanlet · 24/12/2020 14:48

@MummaBear4321

I am at about a 7.5. My 2 year old is on day 5 of potty training, I have a 6 week old who doesnt want to be put down, my house smells of wee and looks like a bomb went off, and I may or may not be hosting my inlaws tomorrow dependent on whether I get my coronavirus test back in time (I have a cold and a slight cough).

I need a drink.

But... why start now???!!!

I still haven't sold my house - it'll be 5 years of trying to get rid of it in March

University want £18,000 for their tuition fees which I can only find after I've sold the house

I'm on my own for Christmas as my DS is with his father for the first time in 6 years. I won't see him for 4 days

I've decided to deliver Fish and Chips for lonely, elderly and homeless people tomorrow instead of doing anything remotely Christmassy for myself.

Dickweed · 24/12/2020 14:53

Am feeling about 9 as this is the first Christmas without my children, due to everyone believing my ex’s lies, even the f**g judge.

RainbowCookie · 24/12/2020 14:55

8 - just got back from 12 day holiday to find lightening has hit our house knocking the power out, so our fridge / freezer defrosted all over the floor. It’s 32 degrees here so you can imagine the smell. Just rushed out to rebuy Xmas lunch which is squeezed into the wine fridge at the moment until we can get rid of the smell. Blerghhh

megletthesecond · 24/12/2020 14:55

Everything is a shout. I have so much to do. Just logged off work and now I have everything to do. Dc's are refusing to muck in, even without screens.
Tbh the house is so messy I have zero interest in Xmas.

KumquatSalad · 24/12/2020 14:59

About a 7. It was a 10 last night though.

DH’s ex has been breaking the rules (rules just don’t apply to her, you see) and took the DSC to visit someone with covid yesterday. So they have to isolate for 10 days and DH cannot see them over Christmas. She told us last night. As you can imagine DH is not happy about this forced change of plans.

It would be one thing if it just couldn’t be helped. But it was totally avoidable by people just doing the right thing and not deciding that rules are for everyone else. Tbh, I’m not convinced it was actually accidental.

But it’s snowing now and I have made some mulled wine.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 24/12/2020 15:00

Varying between about 2 and 5.
Done some basic prep for tomorrow so that's ok.
DH is reading the riot act to the kids as their room is a mess. Ok, it does need tidying but the fact the living room is all over DH's crap is rather ironic.
Also Brazil just declared war on me in civilization 6. Gits.

Bluewavescrashing · 24/12/2020 15:02

Just had a nice nap. Plenty of nice food and drink in. DCs are bumbling about playing and not annoying me

I'm waiting for covid results and v worried about the school situation in Jan (teacher) but overall I'm OK.

TiptopJ · 24/12/2020 15:03

Right now I'm a 7 bordering an 8. I've finally just sat down to have 5 minutes after being rudely awakened at 5am by the toddler. Had to meet contractors for the house move at 9 this morning, its the toddlers birthday as well as Christmas tomorrow so I've just finished his cake, still got quite a few jobs left and DH, who has just enjoyed 2 hours to himself whilst the kids napped has now gone to see his dad leaving me on my own with them. The baby is stirring and the toddler is due to wake up any minute.

In true mumsnet fashion, I don't have a Christmas problem i have a dh problem Grin

andawaywego · 24/12/2020 15:03

About a 7 because I have a sore throat, feel shit and can't get anything done with DC underfoot. DH should be done with work by 5PM though so I might cheer up a bit once I can crack on and get things done.

Your house is over priced. On an epic scale.
Plump82 · 24/12/2020 15:05
  1. I was up nice and early prepping all the veg for tomorrow. Everything went to plan. The mulled wine was an added bonus and im now having a bath with a aptly named bath bomb called Christmas Eve and enjoying an ice cold clementine gin.
Superstardjs · 24/12/2020 15:05
  1. All organised, no drama, lying on sofa watching TV. No stress leading up to today either, so all v calm this year.
MsAwesomeReindeer · 24/12/2020 15:07

I'm about a 2-3. We're all stuck at home because we're waiting for a test result (which we're expecting to be negative). Most things are wrapped, I've just made Christmas biscuits with dd2, and we're chilling now. I was planning on making a cheesecake for tomorrow's dessert, but have just discovered that I forgot to buy cream cheese with my shopping. Can't go out and buy any, so we'll just have to do without. We do have other cakes, biscuits and chocolate, so I'm sure we'll manage.

Mrsjayy · 24/12/2020 15:09

Im ok had my haircut .came home watched Moana now doing a few things for tomorrow. I'm also doing some cooking to take to mums I think I am too chilled maybe the stress is round the corner Xmas Confused
