Is it not just the same thing really?

Thanks. Mine do indoor sports and just working out what will happen when! I'm amazed we're not tier 4... yet.

Did construction work continue in the first lockdown? I can't remember

Schools are open and children’s sports are allowed (in covid secure environments). The latter wasn’t the case in the November lockdown.

I've looked at the British Gymnastics page and it does look like its just tiers 1-3 unless you're an elite gymnast or it's in school (I guess private schools managed to keep all their sport going, our state schools haven't outside of PE lessons. Ho hum.)

Tier 4 - Stay at Home

In this tier, the tightest restrictions are in place to combat the spread of the coronavirus. All indoor gyms and sports facilities must close and this includes gymnastics clubs.

A small number of exempt activities exist which can take place under the Covid-secure guidance outlined in the Step Forward Plan.

Elite training*
Education and training (including for schools, colleges, and universities to use sports and leisure facilities where it is part of their normal provision for curriculum activities)
Childcare - only registered childcare gymnastics clubs who are offering registered childcare and children’s activities that are necessary to allow parents/carers to work, seek work, or undertake education or training can continue to offer existing childcare provision only.
