Merry pre Christmas eve! What are you up to today?

I'm off work from today, which I massively appreciate as I have worked in retail. We've done our big Christmas shop. I'm going to make my nut roast and a few other bits. A little bit of cleaning then watch Christmas films and start a new box set. I had a really busy day yesterday and weeks in general with work and Christmas prep. So massively ready for a rest! I always enjoy the what are you up to chat so thought I'd start one today.

Just away to bed after a nightshift Off now till 31st yah! Will hopefully take boys out to park once I've got up

Stuffings in the oven and just having a clean around. Booked for my nails doing at 11am, then taking DC to the park. We helped my Nan move into sheltered accomodation so going to take a couple of bin liners to the tip.
Pick up magic bag from morrisons, brave a quick shop in there. Back home for food and chilled evening ready for Christmas to fully arrive tomorrow morning. Love Xmas eve & day.

I plan on stripping the beds, polishing the bedroom and cleaning the en-suite. All other rooms I cleaned yesterday. I then plan to catch up watch the holiday.
When DH finishes work we need to go to the local farm shop to pick up the turkey and a pork pie.

Wrapping presents and delivering some presents locally too, cooking, and a quick tidy up. Feeling very tired as my dog woke us all up last night vomiting on the landing!

I like that it’s little Christmas Eve! I have been off work this week but ridiculously thought I’d tidy up a few spreadsheets and clear some last (non urgent) emails, so worked for part of Monday and Tuesday. Then I thought to myself...what am I doing?!! So the laptop is now definitely off. Going out for a walk this morning, just locally as we’re in Wales so in lockdown, need to deliver a couple of last Christmas cards to the neighbours, then I’ll finish up some ironing and present wrapping later, so a good chance to watch a Christmas film while I do that. This evening we’re getting a takeaway from a local pub (supporting them during lockdown), and we’ll watch the football. Tomorrow is our big baking and cooking day.

Working.

But no Zoom meetings scheduled so I will be starting late and finishing early.

(I run my own business so set my own hours. As long as I respond to my clients it's all fine. Although two of them have been on holiday since Monday!)

I'll be glued to the windows watching the lucky people who are allowed to leave their house and fantasising about leaving the house tomorrow because then we will officially be COVID-free, and on top of that I'll try to make gingerbread Christmas trees, decorate some cake boxes for my neighbours, make sure all the presents are ready for the mass delivery we'll be making tomorrow and generally tidying up ready for Christmas.

Wrapping presents, tidying the lounge, cleaning the kitchen, getting the food delivery in and then relaxing this afternoon.

I'm just having a quiet cup of tea (I say quiet, the washer seems really loud this morning!) before I get dressed.

My Tesco shop's due between 11-12 and looks, from the price, like everything's there. I have one last parcel due tomorrow - I am hoping for today but that's just wishful thinking, I think!

Dd1 wants to make mince pies. Not a clue what dd2 wants to do, she was stuck to me like glue most of yesterday.

I really want a few hours so I can finish a crochet praying mantis I've been making for dd2 but we'll see.

I want to clean & mop the living room too but their dad has left his present sort of in the way so I think I'll put him in charge of the mop and bucket!

Just had a cuppa in bed while DD2 wakes up.

Unexpectedly started my Christmas break early yesterday, so just need to do an hours work at home this morning, then a bit of cleaning and a wash for good measure.

Got some local Christmas cards still to post so will take the DCs for a walk to do that, wrap DHs presents while he's still at work and then once he's home make a Lasagne and watch a Christmas film with the DCs.

We have plenty of food in so I refuse to go near a shop until well after Christmas now unless it's to the corner shop for milk. DH and I are both fortunate enough to have a nice long break over Christmas so we intend to slow down best we can and enjoy being at home.

Then chilling out and probably wrapping some presents, because I'm 7 months pregnant and don't have the stamina for DIY that I used to!

We’ve done Sainsbury’s this morning for us and for my mum and have dropped her shopping off to her, DH has played fridge Tetris and we’re now having a bit of a relax and watching ‘Christmas at Warwick Castle’. Then I’m going to do some cleaning and tidying, put out all of the Christmas chocolates while he ventures out again to pick up the turkey. And I found a bag of presents I’d bought in the summer and forgotten to wrap, so I’ll be doing those today as well. Ooh, and hopefully remembering to take sausage meat out to defrost ready to have hot sausage rolls tomorrow.

Housework! I'll do upstairs and DH has downstairs. Then after that DH will be cooking the gammon while I decorate the gingerbread house with the DC. Will probably go for a walk at some point as well. Tonight will be a chill out night, glass of wine and a nice film probably.

Just waiting for DH to get his morning run over with so we can get started, he said he was going an hour ago

I'm cleaning the house - final hoover and polish and a few more decorations up. Got some wrapping to do too. Watching a 'live' concert tonight that DH bought an online ticket for. Might light a proper log fire too.

DH and I need to venture to the shops one last time for something else for DM (I know, know!). Then we'll probably do some wrapping and bake some brownies to take to DM's for Christmas.

Shovelling shit this morning at the local dog home, then last minute shopping.

DHs birthday so collecting his birthday cake from the bakers this morning. Going for a swim together at lunchtime then opening presents and playing board games. Indian takeaway for dinner.

Sorted for Xmas so he gets all the attention today.

I’ve just had my test results - negative, so I can finally leave the house. Will go for a walk in the park later and stop off at the shop for a few extra treats. I also need to dye my hair to get rid of my grey roots, do some laundry and I’m going to have a go at making my own blinis to have tomorrow with smoked salmon.

I need to do a couple of hours of work to meet a work admin deadline.
Then cleaning the house and baking with dd.
Wrapping a couple of presents for friends.
Arranging zoom calls with friends. Leftovers for dinner so no cooking involved.

We're off to visit my SIL for food and wine this afternoon, then we have a few friends over to do the same thing this evening (tier 1, it's very gratefully allowed!). I've also got a huge list of housework to get through at some point...

Waiting for the plumber. Stupidly thought it was a great idea to have a new kitchen installed 2 weeks before Christmas. Currently still without hob, oven, washing machine and sink. He was supposed to be here yesterday. He then promised 8am this morning. Currently 9.15 am and no sign ....... I'm not panicking I promise.

I'm waiting in for a delivery but it's pouring hard outside so no biggie really. I have a mountain of ironing and laundry to get through and the kids are playing minecraft and watching How to train your dragon on telly.

Probably need to tell the relatives we would have seen on Christmas Day we cannot due to what looks like a lost COVID test ....90 hours plus of waiting. So cannot give them their presents either.

It’s my birthday today 🥳. So breakfast and dinner cooked by DH (tier 4 so can’t go anywhere). But also - wrapping stocking presents, making stuffing and baking...not sure what though.
