Do you think it's rude to ask someone to stay in a hotel?

Not at the moment obviously, but in non covid times.

If someone says they very much want to come and visit, (as in it is their suggestion, not the host's), they earn a good living, (better than the host does), they use hotels when visiting other people and you don't have a spare room, (it would mean someone giving their bed to the guest and sleep in a camp bed)?

Full disclosure; I don't think this is rude at all and wouldn't mind if someone asked me to do it.

Generally speaking, I like guests too!

I have lovely friends, but, like many Mumsnetters who post about their families on here, as you say gin, I am not that fortunate with my relationship with all of my family.

Given the screaming and shouting (you don’t need their permission to end a call when she’s throwing a tantrum, tell her you’re ending it due to her unreasonable screaming and put down the bloody phone!) I would risk telling her she will be staying in a hotel. She’ll only scream and shout anyway. 💁‍♀️

Suggest the ‘stately homes’ threads in the relationships section.

Not at all unreasonable given that you’re not close and they’ve history of behaving horribly, to set boundaries with your sibling. If they don’t like it, say you’re mean blah blah, fine!
