I'm on the nay side.

@WorraLiberty

Actually I'm up for anyone trying to spread a bit of Christmas cheer to people walking down the street.

This thread is a bit mean, as there'll no doubt be Mumsnetters who have these on their doors.

Totally agree, but then thats MN for you
DBML · 20/12/2020 14:57

They are horrendous. Buy a fucking wreath.

Lucindainthesky · 20/12/2020 14:59

They're horrible. You can guarantee that the houses inside are completely grey and they spray their xmas tree with zoflora.

Nay. So tacky, bad for posties and the environment. Also at least £20 down the drain

elenacampana · 20/12/2020 16:01

@Neighneigh

You’ve just made my Christmas with that. Thanks for sharing!

@bruffin MN would be boring place if we all had the same preferences and/or weren't allowed to express an opinion...

Nope ... they are horrible

custardbear · 20/12/2020 16:34

Rylan was talking about these last week on the radio - I'd not seen one til now 😁

Crankley · 20/12/2020 16:36

I don't see how it's more mean than any other subject discussed on here.

IMO they look tacky and I prefer a wreath on the door.

Lights?! What is deemed tasteful to you, warm white only, bright white, multi coloured, blue, blue and white, flashing, static?

Static warm white outside is my preference.

Spied · 20/12/2020 16:36

I don't like them.
I do like a traditional wreath although aren't they for graves?Confused

goose1964 · 20/12/2020 17:11

No room for a bow, we have a wreath, a Christmas tree and some reindeer already

bruffin · 20/12/2020 17:16

YOur the one who seems to take offence to someone having a different choice, so much so that you had to come on MN to tell the world about it
I don't see how it's more mean than any other subject discussed on here. Exactly , MN is not exactly the nicest of places most of the time

Layoverlife · 20/12/2020 17:20

🤢 Not for me, each to their own though

Audreyseyebrows · 20/12/2020 17:21

My very try to hard relation has one. Goes perfectly with her fake Ugg’s and diamanté tv unit.

Not for me.

DramaAlpaca · 20/12/2020 17:23

Not my thing, too ostentatious for me. I've only seen one in our village and they've gone mad with the xmas lights too.

TheNoodlesIncident · 20/12/2020 17:49

They're not my cup of tea, but then I have lots of multi-coloured lights outside and a wreath on the door, so maybe people don't like what I've done? I do have nice cosy warm white lights inside, but outside ones are all colours, including pink and turquoise, and a new set of cluster lights in shades of pink, purple and lilac.

I'm not keen on door bows personally, but tbh I do think any effort is worthwhile, so why not?

MeMarmiteYouJam · 20/12/2020 17:52

They are awful. Never. No.

00100001 · 21/12/2020 08:48

@bruffin

Where do you read me taking offence? It's just not my cup of tea and I was wondering if I was in the minority...

Bloody hell

Bloody hell.

OP posts:
00100001 · 21/12/2020 08:49

And you're right @bruffin there are some not nice people on here who seem to think the worst of posters who are just wondering aloud about other people's opinions.

DailyPotion · 21/12/2020 08:52

People can do what they like but I don't know why that looks better than a wreath that doesn't obstruct the letter box

longwayoff · 21/12/2020 09:03

Wreath, thanks. No to bows.
