Coffee machines for hot strong long coffes

Have used for years a filter machine.

Tried a cheap espresso machine and and a nespresso (pixi?) and neither produced hot strong coffee for a large drink. I like white American or flat white. I like a crema on my coffee

The nespresso was like warm and half a cup - should have sent it back really die to the heat issue.

What about bean to cup or a more expensive nesspresso?

Any ideas please?!

Can you use the bialetti-types on electric stovetops?

Anyone got an illy espresso machine? The look so cute and the coffee is meant to be good but it is those darned capsules again :(

I bought a Lakeland coffee pod machine in the first lockdown and it's absolutely brilliant! It was about £100 and takes both Dolce Gusto type pods and also Nespresso size ones as there is two fittings for the machine.

Coffee is really hot and having experimented, I now just buy cheap Amazon pods which still taste like a coffee I'd be paying £3 for in a cafe!

The stainless steel Bialetti is great, stove top. It makes proper Italian espresso. Lavazza espresso powder works well. It's a really strong coffee that tastes great. Low price, easy to maintain. Don't use soap on it as the coffee flavour builds up, the Italians know how to do coffee. Add hot water for Americano, add milk for latte etc

[quote cherrypiepie]@BazingaBaby was leaning toward a bean to cup. Does it do huge mugs of hot strong coffee?

Yes it does! Brew

I bought a Delonghi with steam wand this year. It does the most wonderful lattes and cappuccinos. I work in a coffee shop and I’d say it rivals the professional machine’s coffees. I’d definitely look at their machines.

We have been using a 20 year old filter coffee machine but finally decided to replace it with this www.johnlewis.com/sage-the-precision-brewer-coffee-machine/p3811244 its definitely not the cheapest but makes delicious coffee and I love it! We get beans direct from a local coffee roaster and it really makes a difference.

I hate my Nespresso too OP
At best lukewarm and a quarter mug of coffee plus the environmental issues. 🙄

Regardless of coffee machine/gadget the key for wicked coffee is to buy beans & Grinder; the brand of beans less important than freshly-ground : have just bought Morpilot grinder from Amazon: £13
As to coffe-maker: AeroPress for £20 -£25 makes better Coffee than expensive, tricksy makers; easy clean, no power consumption and easily customisable for strength... PaulJo $
